I assume they wouldn't count towards anything. I know they don't count against the 56 game limit.

well, since they're scrimmages, i would assume the same. But, it seems like i remember chatter about fall games that count. but, i may be wrong.

Unless the rule has changed, the fall games DO count against the 56 game limit. In the past, Tulane has played Rice in the fall and it counted.

While the games will not count towards the 2015 win-loss record, they will count towards the total number of games Tulane can play during the upcoming season per NCAA rules, meaning the Green Wave will only be able to play 54 games during the 2015 campaign.

The rule they voted on last night was to implement up to 4 games in the fall that don't count against the 56 game limit. Any previous rules don't really matter.

Fall baseball would be interesting... I'd be down for it though.

Fall games would be different, but in a good way. Hopefully they'd be on radio/online somewhere for those of us out of state.

Probably sec network or espn3 if I had to guess. I'd assume these would be midweek games. Would be tough to compete with cfb.

I'm still waiting for D1 Baseball or Baseball America to recap all the different rule changes and such. I know they both have guys covering the conference. The explanation of the votes and what changes probably won't come until next week.

The pride of New Iberia

ETA: Shane Youman

Shane Youman was drafted in the 43rd Round of the 2001 draft. That round doesn't exist any longer. He does have the 3rd best career WAR of the 5 players drafted that round that made the Majors. The guy with the best WAR? Jason Vargas, who did not sign with the Twins after being drafted at the top of that rounds and instead opted to come play for LSU. He subsequently transferred out to JUCO and then to Long Beach State where he was allowed to both pitch and hit, which he was not allowed at LSU.

Yeah, midweek makes the most sense during football season. I'm pretty sure they don't scrimmage on Saturdays in the fall as it is.

I won't lie, if done right with timing and setup and beer sales for some non conference night football game a earlyish morning baseball scrimmage before Tailgating could be a lot of fun. A logistical nightmare perhaps, but potentially a great time.

I just noticed that Brody Wofford is showing up on Chipola's roster. Was wondering where he would land.

ETA: Chipola has at least 5 D1 transfers on their roster currently. Trey Dawson and Brody Wofford from LSU. Evan Steele from Vandy, Connor Hock from Notre Dame, and LSU Commit Andrew Bechtold from Maryland.

I wanted LSU to get in on Steele, a lefty, but he's committed to Auburn. Dawson is going to Kentucky. Hock to Central Florida. Nothing on Wofford yet.

Thanks, that's good to know. For some reason I had it in my head that Dawson was at Kentucky this year. Probably because he didn't play much last year.
