If this was happening we wouldn't know about it. Anytime these types of stories start coming out its to sell subs.

On LSUsports.net there is not a Monroe radio station listed as an affiliate for the 2016-2017 season. The ads I hear on nearly all of the stations is "Get your degree from the University of Alabama...." And if that is the reason for these stations not being an affiliate then I don't blame LSU. I will check Saturday morning on all the stations here in Monroe. All I know is I had to listen to them on XM radio in my truck the last few times.

LSU has plenty of young studs at LB in the nfl - minter, jones, alexander. sheppard and riley have had nice careers as well. but which one of those was drafted in the first round?

Where drafted isn't the true measurable? I.e., Ryan Leaf or Tom Brady? NFL starters and years in NFL is better measurable. Deion Jones, Minter, Kwon, Perry Riley, Kelvin Sheppard are examples of LSU producing NFL LBers. I think Riley and Sheppard were 3 stars rated.

Deion Jones should have been a first rounder. He is destroying the league.

I think it's okay to try and flip Allen but LSU makes mistake after mistake about not recruiting other players. In this case it was Jones. We should dictate the recruiting of players not the other way around, Other schools offer multiple players for the same position and don't worry if a kid gets upset we should do the same. This is what breeds competition. We need to develop this mentality, we will lose some and gain some. But ultimately we have control.

Y'all aren't looking at the full picture. We don't just need a LB, we need INSIDE LBs. Levi Jones would be a great get, but he is an OLB, which isn't a major concern at the moment. Filling in for Beckwith at MLB is the priority.

It's only fair, since we outnumber the poor little bastards.

This guy gets it. We are REALLY thin at MLB after White. Alexander, Thompson, Voorhies, etc (are mostly still unknown at this point). Aranda's new 3-4 will employ TWO MLBs on the field at the same time, so implementing this...we are even thinner. I think at some point they've got to give D. Williams, D. Ducre, etc. a look here.

Does anybody know how big Aranda usually likes his two MLBs? Just curious.

Actually you aren't seeing the full picture. The only reason Aranda featured a big MLB like Beckwith was because he inherited him and he was a talented leader of the team.

Aranda's real scheme doesn't require a massive thumper at MLB. You will see this scheme for the first time against Louisville.

He likes fast, athletic LBers. His ILB and Mike can be 230 lbs and work great for him. They don't have to be 250/260 (although Devin White is and he will just be a sophomore).

David Ducre might have a better shot at making it to the NFL if he switches potions from FB to MLB.

Probably because he is pretty much guaranteed to win at least one national championship during his stay at Alabama.

Allen has stated in the past that it was always his dream to play at LSU.

This is a lie then. No one who dreams of playing at LSU would go to Bama. The idea is laughable.

Didnt he say he would rather ride the bench at Bama than play right away at LSU?

He better have said that because that is exactly what is going to happen.

Responding to the original question of this thread, yes.

I say this, knowing the chances are remote. But I recall that famous cliche about nothing being official until the recruit signs his name on the dotted line and sends the scholarship to the college he has chosen.
