It just shows he had his guy and couldn't close the deal. We just saw this shite with the fricking football program. The cash cow.

just curious. what has mr aleva done for lsu. before aleva got there to lsu. lsu was winning championships in gymnastics, track, and the big sports that support themselves in baseball and football. since then lsu kinda dropped off the map in getting in the top. or is it just me

Alleva is toxic. Worst LSU AD ever, worst current AD for a major athletic program at the moment.

Keeping Winstead on and letting him do his thing. LSU is a golf school now.

I have to disagree with your saying ' total embarrassment'. He is responsible for the construction improvements made at Tiger Stadium, and the entire Athletic Department/
Finance Department, which has a very healthy bottom line on his watch. I also like how he handled the LSU Florida game this year so we didn't lose a home game. He handled the football coaching hire in a way that worked out for the best. Tom Herman's agent used LSU to leverage Texas to move to hire him there, and Jimbo Fisher was never coming here. Things will play out, and if they don't, a change will be made in Men and Women's basketball programs. Be careful what you wish for folks. Good AD's are not easy to get and retain, but of course the rant is the self serving master of what and who is best for LSU sports.

Uh. What? I would be fine with any coach that has been a successful head coach, successful offensive coordinator,or a successful defensive coordinator. Ed Orgeron has never been any of those.

We hired a 55 year old career dline coach that has never ran a successful offense, defense , or program.

Please enlighten us as to how you think it worked out for the best.

Right because there are no qualified candidates between Jimbo/Herman and a guy that wasnt even being considered for defensive coordinator positions at schools like Vandy.

He is responsible for the Beth Torina pain train, but he still had to completely frick that up before lucking in to her.

To be fair that was probably a situation where Yvette told him to hire Murphy then told him to hire Torina, which is fine because a HOF softball coach with connections is a good resource to lean on when you're hiring in Olympic sports. He gets some credit for pulling the trigger but he didn't search and find Beth.

At least there was some justification for that hire. Trent took two different programs to the Sweet Sixteen.

O is the worst Ole Miss coach in living memory.

It has to come to a surprise for the LSU brass after how beautifully he handled the duke rape scandal

At least he replaced the windows outside of Tiger Stadium, refinished the outside, replaced the fence with wrought iron fence, and did halfway decent with the south end zone expansion although there are parts I don't care for. Plus planned interior renovations?

Ok stupid, you wanted to get rid of Aranda and not hire Canada. You didn't want to keep Juluke or Craig either.

I suppose you wanted Herman and really think he is a great, can't miss hire? You choose to overlook how bad Houston looked in half of their games this year vs. very weak competition.

Stfu and stop bitching. LSU is doing something that can very well be a trend setting situation by paying top assitants and staff but not overpaying a head coach.

I actually like this decision to build a great staff instead of hiring a so called name coach.

Tony Bennett was sitting there at Washington State, waiting to be picked up and hired by Alleva.

LSU could've had him quick, easy and relatively cheap back then.

See what he's doing at Virginia now.

Just think where LSU would be right now if "Snow Peas Joe" would've made the smart and prudent hire.
