Correct. So these people are about to make bank based on today's numbers.

This.

In the years to come, more and more of these properties will revert to full priced units. It's a solid business model.

Yep, we should probably just euthanize the disabled vets mentioned in the article.

What are you trying to say??

My heart goes out to those sweet people living off gubment cheese. If only they would get a job and support themselves...

I'll think about how I can help them while I'm at work tomorrow.

New Orleans houses millions of people whose dwelling was not built off the government teat.

Many of those people are deducting their mortgage interest on their taxes, and there are several other ways the tax code incentivizes home ownership. Just about everyone is living in some way or another off the government teat.

I feel for those folks, but they've been given six years to make their situations better. What do these people do for a living, and why aren't they any better off than they were six years ago?

Wrong. The government has been living off of taxpayers, sucking us dry to pay for entitlements.

IT IS NOT THE DAMN GOVERNMENT'S MONEY, DUDE, IT'S OUR FUKKING MONEY!!!

I can't speak to the quality of the deal fifteen years ago but to me, the bottom line is simple.

There's no way this was a surprise to the tenants. They just fully expected that someone would save them.

And why not? That's the exact message they've been given. All you have to do is listen to their comments to figure that out.

And that's the problem. I know people sometimes need help. I've used more than $1500 of my own money to directly help people this holiday season.

But these fricks EXPECT it like it's OWED to them.

And, you might think I fully blame them for that but you'd be wrong.

They deserve partial blame but the do gooders deserve some too.

Humans are relatively predictable creatures in some things.

The government tends to kick the can down the road on these things, so at some point, it can't not be surprising when they're out of kicks.

Yeah, no other country has this ability either

The man interviewed is a disabled vet. It isn't clear what the other tenants do or don't do for money.

We aren't talking about other countries. This is irrelevant.

What did the lease say about the phasing out of low income housing? I didn't see a copy of a lease in the article.

I hear Mexico is pretty nice. And the cost of living is really cheap down there.

How many have you? I don't understand your point. Are people not allowed to acknowledge the challenges others face unless they immediate volunteer to help people upon discovering the challenge?

But if you act like people deserve hardship, there's no obligation to help anyone? That totally makes sense.

You have this backwards.

People don't deserve government handouts, regardless of their situation.

We disagree. Imo, disabled veterans deserve government assistance.
