do you think Drew Bree's gets speeding tickets in Louisiana?

damn shame is what it is...no one deserves to be released from jail after 6 minutes if he was arrested for beating up his wife.
folks in that area would have been smart to re-elect chuck fowler...instead, they chose Hilton.
ETA: meant to say Chuck Wagner

If true they should throw the book at him. It's just not surprising he got special treatment.

Unless he is innocent

Do you know how often shite like this happens? Maybe not this exact situation, but lets say you are driving drunk and you fun off the road and have to call for help. If people know who to call to make sure the right police show up, if it was anyone else they would be going straight to jail, instead.. its just an accident.
That's just an example of shite you don't even hear about, but this these type of things happen all the time.

well, if he was innocent, then they shouldn't have arrested him in the first place...and I am thinking it probably would have taken a bit more than 6 minutes to try him once he was brought in.

Former politician Fox Mckithan ran off the road while drunk around Brusly. The chief got a call and was told to not even think about arresting him

So the police only arrest guilty people. Got it. Should they just put a jury in the backseat w em?

no...they only arrest people that they have probable cause to arrest and then the courts figure out whether they are guilty...and that takes more than six minutes.

I think you meant Chuck Wagner. Chuck Fowler is a city council member in Alex.

No bond
Isn't that a judges call
And 6 minutes or three hours, what does it matter.
They had prob cause, they arrested him, he will go to court What is the big deal?

Because it gives the appearance of impropriety, or special treatment, base on economic class.
The article said he called the Sheriff, meaning he had his phone number, at 11-ish at night. The Sheriff provided special treatment to him.
This is compounded if the CEO is a campaign donor.

But he didn't? He still got arrested and due process begins, He got him processed faster.
He knows him personally. I am not a big Hilton lover but I don't see a huge deal

Drew doesn't commit sin, much less speed.

Sheriff basically admitted he did it as a favor to save him from embarrassment and because he was important. He admitted to doing it for others too. Rapides gonna rapide.
Big shoulders? More like he knows he is in an elected position and he is safe in Rapides
quote:
Hilton explained that he received a phone call from Olagues Thursday evening as he was being arrested by Alexandria Police at his home in Alexandria. Hilton said that due to the importance of Cleco’s position in the community, he acted to spare Olagues from having to go through the full booking process that would normally include being held in a jail cell.
“I told (the shift lieutenant), get him in and get him out,” Hilton said.
quote:
Hilton stressed to KALB that he has taken similar actions in the past to help people in similar positions, regardless of their status in the community. He said that he realized his actions may subject him to public criticism, but that he had “big shoulders.”

Then once anyone is arrested for a violent offense, let's get them all back out there, with the quickness, while they are still mad.
6 minutes for everybody should be the new norm.
And he was violent. He choked his wife. With choking, a small slip brings death.

It's his last term. He isn't worried in the slightest.

This.
They let this guy out in 6 minutes after arresting him for choking his wife. So since it's the norm for people that know the right people to get special treatment, it's ok that he likely went back home and beat the shite out of his wife even more for the embarassment?
And props for the APD for letting him make the call as he was being arrested. I'm sure they knew who he was and wanted to keep their jobs, but I doubt if you're picked up on Overton St you're able to make a phone call before they put the cuffs on you.
Cenla!

Everyone should be treated equally under the law. This Sheriff is playing favorites. Plain and simple.
