Whoa. I don't do progressive. I vote Republican.

I'm 100% with you on this post. Moreso than for the person and even for the resume, I vote for the principles in which I believe. I'm conservative, and that's why I didn't vote for Trump. His economic plan is more liberal than what Bill Clinton's Presidency yielded; Trump's plan is a step and a half away from FDR. frick that, and frick the emotional connection this majority of this board has to him.

ETA: Trump isn't even strong on 2nd Amendment rights, which I view to be no less than sacred. Of course, I'm basing this on Trump's tweets, but hey, that's the material he gives us. Crowder and Shapiro agree with me on this matter FYI.

Not sure how you got bitching from what I've said. I said that the qualifications for President are clear and anyone who doesn't like it can go suckle at Hillary's teat, or implied as much. No bitching there.

On the other hand, you and others are complaining about who has more experience screwing over taxpayers for a living.

Talk out of your arse like that, and "bitching" is a fair label.

Matter of opinion. Telling your whining self to snuggle up to Madam President isn't bitching. Bitching about the number of hours of public service needed to be President is bitching.

All experience is going to be rated differently - for me executive experience is far more relevant than legislative experience - Obama had none before being elected. Trump has scads of private sector executive experience.

Most Presidents flow out of governor's mansions, the VP slot or General officer careers - certainly since the Civil War.

Andy Johnson (not a very good president, BTW) - was VP, and a governor before that

U.S. Grant - US Army

Hayes - Governor (he was also a congressman)

Garfield - Congress and U.S. Army general (also a state legislator)

Arthur - VP and general

Cleveland - Governor

Harrison - Senator and general

McKinley - Governor and congressman

Teddy - the trifecta - VP, governor and military (Colonel, but as famous as any general of his day)

Taft - territorial governor and Secretary of War

Wilson - governor

Harding - Senator (terrible fricking president)

Coolidge - VP, governor and state legislator

Hoover - Secretary of Commerce (and had been successful in business before - probably the closest in comparison to Trump from an experience standpoint)

FDR - governor (and had been assistant Secretary of the Navy during WWI)

Harry S - VP and governor

Ike - commanding general of the coalition that defeated Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy

JFK - House and Senate

LBJ - VP, Senate and House

Nixon - VP, Senate and House

Ford - VP, House

Carter - governor, state legislature (proves governor experience is no guarantee)

Reagan - governor

HW - VP, career bureaucrat

Clinton - governor, state AG

W - governor

Obama - less than a full term U.S. Senate, and 7 years state house.

The only one even close was JFK, who served a full term in the U.S. Senate and 6 years in the House of Representatives.

Not nearly "right in the middle" - he was about the least experienced person ever elected.

FIFY.

Trump has been running multimillion dollar companies and turned a couple hundred million into several billion dollars on his own while having significant executive experience in the private sector for decades.

Obama can't touch that kind of shite as he's never had a public or private executive or even managerial position before.

I'm inclined to agree. It's worthy of much discussion.

Consistency against the war.

Didn't Obama say, last week that he was the only two term President that had eight years of continuous war.

"WASHINGTON — President Obama came into office seven years ago pledging to end the wars of his predecessor, George W. Bush. On May 6, with eight months left before he vacates the White House, Mr. Obama passed a somber, little-noticed milestone: He has now been at war longer than Mr. Bush, or any other American president."

This dude/snowflake just don't get it. He still thinks politicians/people in government are what is needed in Washington. Those people are the very reason we need someone that has been (1.) a successful businessman and (2.)owes no allegiance to any party, group, organization, donor, or lobbyist.

Experienced (mostly crooked) politicians has dam near run us in the ground on the spending issue alone. It's about time we get someone that don't meet ballcrusher's qualifications.

John and Lindsley should have switched to the dumocrap party a long time ago.

Pre-presidential qualifications and Presidential performance are two different discussions.

His lack of political qualifications is the reason many voted for him.

Precisely why I surmised that that could be the reason for friction between him and two career politicians. It's nothing more or less than a logical guess. Emotionally-driven grown men responded with emotionally-charged responses because of their emotional connection to Trump. Ironic.
