The Victorinox 8" chef's knife is great. I've had mine for years and I still use it every bit as often as my more expensive Global. Can't comment on the others but Cooks Illustrated recommendations have always been hits with me.

I was watching Cook's Country last night and they reviewed rice cookers. Their pick was the Aroma 8 Cup Digital Rice Cooker and Steamer which sells for just $30. I never felt the need for one before, I cook rice just fine on the stovetop. But for that price I might pick one up and see what all the fuss is about.

I received my Anova wifi precision cooker yesterday. Haven't been able to link it it to my wifi yet but haven't had much time to tinker with it yet

ETA: finally got it connected

I use my rice cooker weekly if not more. Comes out better than I can make it on stove. I love it.
