I don't usually go into the office unless there are meetings, but today is the one day of the year I always go. It's great to see the production guys, forklift operators, lab techs, and office staff all smiling and feeling good about their $4-$6K bonus' that hit their banks this morning.

We don't get a bonus, we get a cash "gift"

Always got at least a couple of grand, was told this year we were going to do a profit share in January which could result in a larger bonus. Company was sold yesterday ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconconfused.gif)

OK, if your employer would ultimately pay you 100k / year for your services, would you rather get it over the course of the year with no "year end "bonus", or get paid a salary of $90k and get a $10k bonus at Christmas time?
I'd choose the former, but of course, I'm saying this as one who never got more than a ham for Christmas.

We had a great year this year. My employees on commission got 10% of what they earned in commission year to date. The non revenue folks got 2 grand.

Haven't had one in almost 20 years.
And back then we just got a frozen turkey

I worked at Knoe for about 7 years. First we got McRaes (that name shows how long ago that was) $25 gift certificates.
Clearly that was way too extravagant.
So they started giving us bagged jelly in old glass jars.
