What's worse the coaching or talent?

I went to the game and seriously can't tell. Between guys blowing open lay ups and not being able to dribble the ball or get to the rim to save their life. Or is it the horrible play calling, not fouling when up by 3 twice, the terrible drawn up play out of timeouts, or the get AD the ball play that is used 95% of the time.

The guy who hired the coach and signed the players. His name is Dell "I'm blind and have evidence against benson and loomis" Demps

Talent.
Gentry has had a few really shitty games coaching wise, but we can't make open shots. The offense actually has been working pretty well (tonight and a couple of other nights being the exception). We just don't have players who can consistently hit open looks.
If we were able to shoot league average on open shots, we'd have about 5 or 6 more wins. Problem is we don't have those players.
If we could rely on guys like Galloway, Frazier and Moore to be our spark off the bench, that'd be one thing. But unfortunately we need them to all carry the load as part of the starting 5. They aren't good enough for that and it is painfully obvious.

Being lost even after a time out is on the players, not the coach.
You can hear uncle Al even ask, everyone got it? Know where you're supposed to be? And everyone answers yes.
Then they obviously don't and we look like that load of shite.

We are so inconsistent, from qrt to qrt. Plus we should not stop attacking late in the game with the lead. When we push the pace we are at our best.
We try to run clock at the end of the game and we mess it up. A lot dribbling no ball movement and get it to AD late in the shot clock

When you take out AD, the talent is worse. However, that's hardly reassuring, because it's only marginally worse. They are both bad. Last night certainly shone the spotlight directly on Uncle Alroy's limitations.

Talent---I've never seen an NBA team miss soooo many wide open 3s before. We make more wide open 3s in pick up ball than the pels.

I was telling my kid this as we left the game last night. We have some really good bench players - at least one of the group always puts up some nice numbers. Unfortunately, we're relying on these guys as primary scorers, not as bench players. One more lottery pick and one solid trade would make a world of difference on this team ,I think.

Talent by far.
I don't think Gentry is a great coach, but with a good roster he would be serviceable due to his solid offensive system.
Take AD off this team and then take the best player off every other team, the Pelicans would probably be close to the bottom of the standings, all else being equal over a season. There is talent here, but it isn't complimentary or cohesive.

We are already there with Davis

yes.
mediocre at best, but most of the league falls into that category. he's not a Rambis, Byron, or Mitchell. remember, before Gentry was the worst coach in the league, Monty was the worst coach in the league too

I guess I should of been more clear. I was assuming a hypothetical where the rest of the team was completely healthy but every team lost their best player.
In my mind the Pelicans would still be near the bottom. Just illustrating how bad this roster is outside Davis.
