Worth trying or save my money? Got some wild pork boudin made at Ronnie's in Hammond last year and it was great. They told me they do a lot of deer boudin.. This year no hogs but plenty of deer meat. Anyone have any experience with it?

Never had it but would damn well eat it.

Yeah. Not there but get it made elsewhere. It's awesome.

I get a rice/deer sausage made and it's great. Very similar to boudin but cuts and stays together more like sausage.

Ronnie's is good. There's a man in Mandeville that does it out of his house also. He's "The Boudin Man". I got 65 pounds of his boudin last year. He also does all sorts of other venison cuts.

I get deer boudin from Ronnie's every year. It's the best I've had from a few different places I've tried.

We get a lot of deer boudin at Ronnies. It's great.

Harringtons in Winnie Texas. If you are in Baton Rouge let me know and I'll let you try some.

Seems like we have a serial homo downvoter.

They clicked thinking it has a homo thread and were disappointed

How well does boudin hold up once you freeze it?

Think he's hitting up every post on the OB

I'm in Washington Parish but thanks for the offer.
By the responses looks like deer boudin at Ronnie's is worth a shot.

I had some made at Bergeron's last year and it was awful. Of course I had some of their regular boudin and really didn't care for it either. Billy's or Don's is the best around but I haven't found a comparable place that processes deer and uses that style recipe

Guy in Winnfield makes some that is awesome

I went to Ronnies yesterday specifically to get some deer boudin. None in stock.
I did get some regular pork boudin that is about to go on the grill. Will update.

Back with pork boudin update. It was absolutely great. Very meaty and great flavoring. Not chunks of pork like Dons, but strings that added texture. Not as spicy as Don's either, but still great.
For grilled boudin, top notch. Still cannot touch Best Stops steamed boudin though.

I need to try someone else's deer boudin, the last one I had was about as close to boudin as turkey bacon is to real bacon.
