Half Of Detroit's Votes May Not Be Recounted

As much as half the precicnts in Wayne County/Detroit probably won't be counted at all in the recount due to the number of ballets not matching the totals on voting day of the machines used. If that's the case, Michigan law won't allow any of the votes from the precincts at all to be recounted in the recount. Original votes from election day will stand.

Well, get ready for Trump's lead in Michigan to grow.

Gee, I wonder which way the "extra" votes went?

Too bad so sad. If you're gonna cheat, at least be good at it.

According to state law, precincts whose poll books don’t match with ballots can’t be recounted. If that happens, original election results stand. “It’s not good,” conceded Daniel Baxter, elections director for the city of Detroit.

I'm not paying for this, I don't care. Let them waste tehir (or actually other people's) money.

Pitiful, Dims should have left well enough alone

They just got caught with their hand in the cookie jar.

Hillary should have been against these recounts 100%. If there is anything to lose, it's on the Democrat's side, as their cheating ways won't hold up to scrutiny.

They tried to sneak in some "misplaced" ballots again?

He blamed the discrepancies on the city’s decade-old voting machines, saying 87 optical scanners broke on Election Day. Many jammed when voters fed ballots into scanners, which can result in erroneous vote counts if ballots are inserted multiple times. Poll workers are supposed to adjust counters to reflect a single vote but in many cases failed to do so, causing the discrepancies, Baxter said.
Something tells me that the paper ballots in that county won't come anywhere close to matching up with the number of actual votes cast. I would bet my entire house on it that there's at least a 10% - 15% difference.

How is it 2016 and there are places in the United States that still use paper ballots / optical scanners for election day balloting?
I mean, you kind of have to use paper for absentee... but otherwise? I mean even in backwards poor St. Bernard, we have computer machines we use for both early voting and election day.

Question here:
If state law prohibits the recount of a precinct where the actual forms don't match the number of actual votes tabulated by the machines, then if there were a massive amount of voter fraud, and a recount were legitimately warranted (not like this BS that Stein has initiated) then how could a candidate fight this law?
Let's say there is evidence that the ballots are 10%-15% less than the counted votes on the machine. If state law prohibits the recount because of this discrepancy, what other recourse can the aggrieved candidate seek?

It's a more than 90% democrat county; the advantages to using such equipment should be obvious. Much easier to stuff the ballots at the election when you have a bunch of chowder heads not correcting the votes the way they should.

My wife tells me that federal law, which she understands more than me, would trump state law on a constitutional issue if someone filed a federal suit. Not sure though I am not a lawyer.

And there's little doubt in my mind if an audited recount was done in California, that thousands of illegal votes for Clinton would be discovered.

Probably 100's of thousands at a minimum.

This isn't good news.
You're telling me if a republican asks for a recount the rolls in the sleaziest districts are unassailable?
