Sean Payton shouldn't be fired, but next season should be make or break

We should be reaching the end of our rebuild and we'll be flushed with cap space over the offseason. If we can't make a playoff run next year, it'll be time to move on after the seaosn.

He should be forced to clean out the coaching staff on defense and special teams.

Vitt, McMahon, and Bill Johnson absolutely must go.

McMahon did something incredible to get the security he has

No he has to go after this season. Keeping this regime just holds back the franchise another year

Considering what he's done with essentially 30M in dead money is impressive. Sure, he makes decisions that frustrate me, but I'm not as down on SP as many here are. I agree, next year is definitely the year to make a run and if we get another season like this, then I'm gonna start turning on him. Because he won't have any excuses by then.

This team is sloppy and lacks discipline. That is completely on coaching

That schedule is a cakewalk compared to this season

Dead money has screwed him pretty good & signing average players to big contracts as well. I like him more than most people on this board, but he has no excuses next year. It would be a shame if he gets fired b/c he refuses to fire his coaching buddies. He's here to win football games...not make friends forever. He's loyal to a fault.

I'm sure Tom is locked in

Yeah, but he's also heavily responsible for a large chunk of that dead money.
The Saints need a real GM, not just a money guy.

What's impressive about 3 consecutive losing seasons?

I feel like we've seen this before...somewhere...

London again? Damn. Also three cold weather away games (Green Bay, Buffalo, Minnesota).

Will the Saints hire the d line coach?
Posted on 12/5/16 at 9:06 am to hendersonshands
I don't want Payton fired because I can't imagine who Benson would hire who would be a better coach, but the Superbowl honeymoon is over.

Roger Goodell should be fired. Rich McKay, Chairman of the NFL Competition Committee and an Atlanta Falcons employee should be fired. A select few owners need to be investigated. Mr. Benson is too ill to initiate with other unalligned owners an effective NFL organizational change. For anyone about to suggest that Benson not bite the hand that feeds him, money at this point is meaningless to him. He gave money to the HOF and other charities. He has ungrateful and greedy relatives. I wish Benson had the strength to effect an NFL change at the head of the snake.
