What will it seriously take to clean up New Orleans and it's senseless crime?

Every day you hear or shootings, murder, robbery, and other senseless crime in New Orleans. Before some idiot on here says culture braw or it happens in every major city no it does not.
Now it's to the point it does not matter where you are at, what time it is, or what race you are. Anyone is suceptable to violence. Black on Black, White on Black, Black on White, Hell White on White. What really will it take to end the violence? Do people of New Orleans don't give a shite or do they just turn a blind eye to it?
1st thing they need to do is stop electong crooked mayors and politicians who can't handle the job. They need to clean up the NOPD and begin to pay decently. So sad to see a once proud city plastered all over the news for violence.

Gentrification but hopefully the unheard of kind where people are relatively local and wish to preserve historical culture and tradition that isn't murder

Besides gentrification? Nothing

Only 1 ban and 2 PMs. Cause it's so late.

I mean, you answered your own question. It's the culture.
For whatever reason, these kids are brought up on violence and drugs. Even though plenty of kids have made it out of there to have bright futures. You've got parents who brainwash them with "The man is gonna keep you down" and then rappers who make their money off singing about making it on the streets selling drugs and what not. Getting a gun is easier than getting a diploma and that's all there is to it now.

A mixture of forced sterilization, life imprisonment, and gentrification. All which will never happen, so... Never.

Serious question but to people on NO really care anymore or is it like "well another shooting just happened". It seems like they have become numb to it and it's just another part of daily life.

I think it's just part of the new Orleans "blasé" mentality. The white collar folk see it as a "other side of the tracks" issue and something that even though is prevalent, it doesn't really affect them or their personal lives. As for the other side of the tracks, violence is glorified and seen as a way of life through main trashy areas.

You can take New Orleans out of this statement and it would apply to literally every high crime area. I've lived in Baltimore, New York, Chicago and Memphis in my early adult life and it was the same shite. Hell, go to Disney World today and tune in to the evening news. Disney may be magical but some bad shite goes down in Orange County.

What will it take to be a tipping point to start the change. Will it take a large group of white people to get gunned down it the French Quarter or Garden district at 4:30pm. Until it starts to affect the middle upper class white people it will be same ole same ole.

It's a violent world, always has been, always will be. It would help if the education opportunities grew though

Nothing changed after the Louisiana Pizza Kitchen massacre in the French Quarter.
