Very easy answers because these have been so successful:

1. Midnight Basketball
2. Supporting Schools in Implementing Trauma-Informed Approaches.
3. Expanding the Use of Restorative Approaches in Schools.
4. Creation of the "World Cultural Economic Forum"
5. National Forum on Youth Violence Prevention
6. The Make Guns Jewelry Initiative
7. More money for the NOLA FOR LIFE Fund
8. More money for the NOLA FOR LIFE Services Collaborative
9. NOLA FOR LIFE Services Collaborative Pilot Project
10. NOLA FOR LIFE Mentoring
11. Building Character in NORDC Summer Camps
12. Engaging Fathers
13. Behavioral Interventions at the Youth Study Center
14. Youth Engagement Strategy
15. Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports
16. The creation of a NOLA FOR LIFE Resources Mobile Website
17. More funding to CeaseFire New Orleans
18. Group Violence Reduction Strategy
19. NOLA FOR LIFE Reentry Strategy (RISE - Reintegration Services)
20. A Public Awareness Campaign
21. A Quality of Life Stat
22. Stop the Shooting!

Without all of these being put in place the only other option is Gentrification.

Gentrification but hopefully the unheard of kind where people are relatively local and wish to preserve historical culture and tradition that isn't murder

Great first reply and undoubtedly the best reply in this thread.

In 1990 there were something like 450 murders in NOLA

By 2000 that number dropped to around 250

Now it's a little over 150

I'd say things ARE getting better

What about "UNCLASSIFIED DEATHS"
2010: 27
2011: 67
2012: 79
2013: 64
2014: 114
2015: 208
2016: 83 as of June of 2016

Also the use of "UNDETERMINED DEATHS" is also statistically relevant but the City of New Orleans doesn't report those statistics publicly for some reason. UNDETERMINED DEATHS are separate from UNCLASSIFIED DEATHS and the numbers are not included in those above.

*From 2008-2011 there were 1,371 reported shooting victims who were "transported" to UMC. 2012-2015 there were 1,324 reported shooting victims who were "transported to UMC.

This is an important statistic because not all shooting victims in New Orleans were transported to UMC. If you went to Touro, Oschner, Tulane, etc. those shooting statistics weren't counted just those who went to UMC.

Tell me again how Mitch has cleaned up crime in New Orleans or has he just manipulated the data to make it look safer since he took office?
