Well on talent an defense alone he's gonna win more games than he did at Ole Miss. He'll almost definitely have a winning record overall.

Will he won more than Les? Remains to be seen

Will he won the West? Tough row to hoe as long as Uncle Nicky is up the road.

Will he win the SEC? See above

Will he win a Natty? See above

This would be true of anyone we hired. I stand by my contention that there isn't a reasonable name we could have gotten that would take more than 2/5 against Bama is Saban remains for that duration. He is the best there's ever been. Period.

If Ed can win the west once while Saban is at Bama and average 9 wins for the four years, this will be a success. No matter what or who we hired, we aren't going to be dominant in the Bama rivalry until Saban hangs up his whistle.

Why even fire Miles than if the your hopes for his replacement are that he can match the record that Miles got fired for at his very best?

lol. We fired a guy who we know for sure can do this because we wanted more. Now you're saying that's all we expect of his replacement?

Making a hire like this because we don't expect to win is ridiculous. You take a risk, you go for broke and try to identify who the next big coach is.

Otherwise, you're just settling to lose.

Aiming high.

All this means is consistent 7-5 or 6-6 records will be ok if 9 wins is the expected best we can get. What's 2 less wins? It really isn't that much.

If we expect 11 wins and get 7 that's a problem. 9 to 7? Meh, pretty much the same.

You Orgeron apologists are really something. Now you are resetting the standard by which we measure success (and/or the firing of Les Miles).

Will he won the West? Tough row to hoe as long as Uncle Nicky is up the road.

So now it is OK for LSU to lose to Alabama because Saban is their coach!!! WOW.

It is now also OK for LSU not to win the west OR a national championship!! WOW.

You folks who are BLIND Alleva/Orgeron supporters are really something else. Sports writers around the country (and local) are saying the SAME thing....Why did we hire a D Line coach who was unemployed a couple of years ago because NOBODY wanted him?????????

. This is defeatist thinking that will lead LSU down the primrose path to overwhelming mediocrity. If everyone's ok with this then this is what we'll get, if that. I'm not so sure that o will even be able to win 9 games consistently.
