There is no way to look at this hire (and Johnny Jones's ... and the Duke lacrosse scandal) other than what it is: an inept attempt by an arrogant, lazy AD who should be shown the door.
Long gone are the days when Emmert and Skip ran the show. We have regressed back to the LSU 'mean'.

I despise Alleva...... he is absolutely the worst AD in the SEC. Maybe one of worst in the country. How we ended up with that Lacrosse idiot, I will never know.

What should scare you even more is that the board signed off on this. ALl of you can choose believe it or not but this wasn't all on Joe Aleva. Joe is nothing more than the scape goat that will be gutted and hung up to dry when Orgeron drive LSU football into the fricking ground.

Well the previous coaches before Sutcliffe he hired eon like a total of 3 games. And he backed the baseball coach at Duke after he was caught giving players steroids.
And that whole he was on the boat his son was driving when he got arrested for drinking and operating a boat.
But yeah, no red flags prior to being hired at LSU.

Emmert didn't want Skip btw, at least not before they had conducted a national search, this was beginning of the return of the good ole baws and our decline..
