LINK

Main points: He's cleaning house and bringing his UofH assistants with him. Aranda is his DC focus however UT is unlikely to match the pay increase

I believe Aranda will stay. Imo he will leave once the NFL comes calling... If I were in the same situation, I would ignore my former roommate where I will have to rebuild and stay at my current job and prove myself again

Pay Aranda whatever it takes. But Alleva doesn't like to get into bidding wars

This means Houston will want a coach that can build a staff. That's not Todd Orlando at this point in his career. We need Houston to hire someone who is a HC or has been already, and let's hope Herman sees Orlando as an almost equal, but cheaper option than Aranda.

For those wondering about Jeff Traylor, the tight ends coach under Charlie Strong who was so successful recruiting in his native East Texas, Horns247 is reporting that Herman won’t retain Traylor or any other assistants from the Strong era.

Opportunity?

Bringing small school staff to the big school is somewhat of a red flag. Could work out but at Texas you want the best of the best.

So Aranda is going to go be Co-DCs with someone from Houston?

This is one of the reasons Aleva didn't let anybody make him overpay. So he can pay Aranda to keep him at LSU

Well if Aranda goes, strong would be a good replacement.

Aranda should be head coach right now.

On the defensive side of the ball, LSU’s Dave Aranda is still the top name floating around to become the defensive coordinator at Texas
