Oh, you're tired of hearing logic?

Sorry to disturb your fantasy land of rainbows and unicorns where teams keep great coordinators forever that lead them to multiple National Championships and the head coach doesn't matter.

Man, every coach relys on his assistant coaches. That is why they get paid.

Biggest myth on Earth. Sabah was never mediocre. He was coaching a team on serious probation and penalties at MSU in what was the toughest conference at the time.

O sucked massively when the SEC was not even half as good as it is now.

Just shut the hell up and accept and move on and wait for results. Damn... It didn't work out so well as a dictator either for Les did it? This isn't a perfect world and LSU tried to get other coaches. It didn't happen move on

Correct, but the 2 are not exclusive. We're relying on one.

Miles Joe Pa and Bowden won championships being CEOs. The OP is clueless.

Saban has won National Championships with 5 different OC's. A different coordinator for every single National Championship.

Fact

McElwain was OC in 2009 and 2011.

I was going to make this long list for you, but all I got is Pete Carrol. Carrol was a defensive mind that actually gave up control to his OCs. Now, that said, he had some amazing OCs. Les vs O, O let's the assistants do their jobs. If O has said anything that I like, it's that he's learned a lot from Pete.

Certainly glad LSU dodged the Kirby Smart bullet. UGA will be looking for a new head coach again in 3 years when they realize they hired Muschamp 2.0

What happens when Coach O loses Aranda? And Kiffin (If we even get him)?

If... and it's a big if... Orgeron can retain Aranda for another two years or so, and if he gets a really good OC and keeps LSU in the top 10 over this stretch (or top 15 at a minimum), then it's likely Orgeron will be deemed successful and will get a new contract.

From this point, the more consistent Orgeron is at getting the program running at a high level, the more likely replacing Aranda and Kiffin/whoever will be relatively smooth.

Even if Orgeron gives his OC and DC a lot of latitude to run their departments, he's still going to maintain a lot of input with regards to recruits, with regards to how practices are run, with regards to how game plans are developed, and likely with in-game decisions and play-calling. So... if he's successful enough to remain head coach after 2-3 years, he'll be in a better position to hire new coordinators with an eye for continuing his system.

The key is always balancing continuity with evolution. Saban has done a good job of hiring with an eye for continuity within his system, but has allowed for some tweaking to evolve and not get stale. That was Miles' downfall. Miles had a decent enough run of DCs to last 10 years despite a string of questionable OCs. But he resisted tweaking his offensive strategy until the offense was irreversibly stale.

Orgeron will be in a similar situation to Miles. He doesn't really need to become an offensive or defensive genius. He needs to settle on a philosophy with his coordinators, recruit for it, then strive for continuity in his hires to maintain what success he has (but not refuse to tweak it enough to keep it fresh).

Easier said than done, of course. But it isn't impossible either.

So you're saying teams will have a tough time preparing for LSU.
