for Herman. But, after the losses to inferior teams I started wavering. Then, after yesterdays loss to Memphis I asked myself, "Do I really want a head coach that has zero ties to the state or university and throws the ball 60-70 times a game and STILL loses?"

What is a head coach anyway? If he has the right coordinators he only needs to be a terrific recruiter, motivator and someone who absolutely can't stand to lose (will make the necessary changes to see that the problems are fixed). Is a great ambassador for the school and wants to WIN. If you believe Herman or Fisher would want LSU to win more than "O" then that is where you and I part company.

I believe Coach O is that guy.

What do you call a team you were favored by 14?

If you are comparing Memphis to Florida (the SEC East Champions) then we can't have an intelligent discussion.

Not anymore than you "have" to have an OC for head coach.

I'm not in the football operations building and in staff meetings everyday. So, I don't know what motivates people like Fisher/Herman. But, I know what motivates Coach O. He's a Louisiana native and knows where Kentwood, Oberlin, Pickering and Monroe are. He takes pride in the state and wants to win not just to pad his resume' or make more money at his next head coaching stop.

Winning for LSU and the state matters to him. That matters to me.

Think about the coaches currently at the top of the profession. DOES even one fit this mold? All of them are defensive or offensive specialists.

Right, because his ties to LSU and the state of Louisiana very similar to his ties to USC and the state of CA. C'mon, man.

If you can "guarantee" me a win with Herman/Fisher at the helm every year against the SEC East Champion I'll be more than happy to agree with you.

I have a hard time believing "O" would have been down early against Memphis.

If you are coaching to keep your job, and you lose to a 14 point underdog, you don't keep your job.

If you can cite a single example to the contrary outside of THIS BS SITUATION we'll have something to discuss.

Go ahead . . . take your time. Otherwise you can take the supposed want to win, and shove it.
