Firing Les Miles for any coach who can complete a sentence and who has knowledge of the forward pass is acceptable.

It's retarded. If O gets the job it may be the end of LSU football being somewhat relevant.

I really wanted Miles to turn things around over the past few years, but it was pretty apparent The Decline was real and program was starting to unravel under his stewardship. It was time for Miles to go. Period.
Alleva, etc. did not fire Miles to hire Orgeron-- even if they end up settling for him.

Miles had many chances over the last 5 years. He was running LSU football into the ground. If you can't see that things are better since he is gone then you aren't watching.

100% agree. That would be a MASSIVE downgrade.

Turn away Jimbo to keep Miles.
Fire Miles and flirt with Jimbo and Tom Herman.
Hire Ed Orgeron.
We are LSU.

It's called settle for mentality!

Ed should have never even been considered. What a freaking shite show. Two years running.
Posted on 11/25/16 at 2:42 pm to cbtullis
That's bullshite. CEO is definitely an upgrade over Miles and that isn't debatable.

Firing Les Miles has nothing to do with hiring EO. Les Miles should have been fired long ago for unacceptable performance. Frankly speaking he should have never been hired if Skip Bertman wasn't such an egotistical SOB. He had a battle of ego's with Saban and let him walk. I know that for a fact. From an LSU coach who was my next door neighbor Miles had no clue the depth of this job when he arrived and it took him 3 years to stop looking and acting like a deer in the headlights. His defensive and offensive coordinators were so much more knowledgeable than he was he basically stayed out of their way until he started pestering Jimbo to death. Once the coordinators left he hired people he could control. His power was not in his knowledge but in his control and that we had athletes that could win 8-9 games a year with their eyes closed.
If LSU had done its job and fired him in January 2012 it would have not even been a blip on the radar. But they did not and even this time the did not fire Miles. Miles fired MIles by looking adversity and problems in the eye and saying "I'll do like I want". Sorry but employment does not work that way. The problem now is not EO but Alexander, Alleva and company not having a plan that can be carried out having 4 years to accomplish it. This is what happens when you speak words such as Excellence but have no idea what it really means or what needs to be done to accomplish it. Couple that with a BOS that are a bunch of token political appointees, some of which never earned a degree much less attended LSU. Alabama's success is not because of Satan it is because the people running the University and the Athletic Foundation know what it is and they don't stop until they achieve it. They are kicking our butts also in the educational side of the university.
