He has some terribly embarrassing losses
Minimal head coaching experience
Honestly think he's far from the home run hire LSU needs

Only person I'm completely sold on is saban. Who the hell knows how anyone else would do. But I'm all in for Herman.

No coach is a guaranteed success.
However, Coach O is a guaranteed failure. So I'll take anyone not named Ed Orgeron.

Houston only team with 2 top five AP wins in the past year .

Jimbo was my first choice, but after Herman it's even more questionable, high risk hires.
That is unless you can convince Gundy to leave his alma mater.
Still, you can't ignore that Herman has beaten Fisher, Petrino, and Stoops with far inferior talent.

The fact that he can play with any team in the county while having inferior talent is enough for me. Losing games to "bad" teams doesnt bother me. Because our talent would win those games kinda by default. See les miles career

Here we go...unrealistic expectations!

Top 20 team in front of 40k home stadium. Sold

Not sold. But there are literally only 3-4 home run hires and none are available. Anyone is going to be a risk.

Regardless of the resume, any hire is going to be a roll of the dice and any AD will tell you that. I am not that impressed with his losses. The other thing I am thinking about is whether his heart will be here or still in Texas if the Longhorns come calling next year or the NFL a la Saban.
Keep in mind that Coach O inherited a shite show one third of the way into a season. There's not a whole lot you can do at that point other than some minor things and otherwise ride the season out doing the best you can with the cards you have been dealt. In all candor, I would have liked to have had the Florida game back, but that one is on the players and not Ed or Steve.

I mean, so does Saban.

Lowest floor highest ceiling

Not at all - he has taken a tier 3 program to a few signature wins but nothing sustained. Lost to SMU, 22 point underdog. Will leverage this interest into a big raise and fade into obscurity.

I'm sold on none of these people. Not one has proven they can sustain winning. Herman has proven he can OC but so has Aranda(DC).

There were a lot of doubters after Houston's other losses... then they beat Louisville and everyone jumped back on the bandwagon

It would be a miracle if he could keep his team from quitting on him after all the rumors. So, I wouldn't hold this game against him.
