This site would be a nuclear wasteland if we had a coach with the same percentage of 74-42

higher winning percentage than saban or miles when they were hired

Ok let me start out saying I am no one with big sources, and also take this FWIW. I love coming on here and reading this board. I don't blame y'all for being so passionate about this and not accepting mediocrity. Y'all deserve the best. So in saying that.. I contacted my uncle last night.I hardly ever talk to him, but after reading this board so much, it's got me wondering now lol. Anyways he's a big time booster at FSU. Way up the pole. His words were that they are feeling about the same as y'all are right now. He said half of the boosters are in panic mode and ready to throw money at someone else because they believe Jimbo is leaving and something about they were ready last year cause he was leaving. Then he said the other half including himself believes that he's not going anywhere after he's got everything arranged with his kids, ex, etc... He thinks that they will be giving him a raise and some other form of help? He also said he has never seen it where they, the big money guys, don't actually know a for sure sign either way. So again, like I said, I'm not a source guy or a rumor guy. Just thought some of y'all would like to know some form of truth of how the other side feels. Meaning FSU. Hope this doesn't get this whacked. And again take it fwiw. Hope y'all have an injury free end of season and bowl game. Good luck on the hire. And please tell anyone in your admin that we need defensive help and at this point would take a bum off the street and send them our way haha

Theres only one reason why their posts are getting whacked... Because the admins know who the coach is and so do LSUtigerz9845 and DALSU

Prayers bud, he will be just fine. God is with you.

If you actually believe this...lol

That's the only logical thing. I don't believe there's a smokescreen. They only got whacked when they started laying down specifics.

I'm not sure what you see so amusing in that. I see that you're a FSU fan, so maybe you have more info? I said I didn't have a clue and was only posting what a big time booster had said. If you have more info then post it. My post wasn't some huge nugget or whatever. I only figured LSU would like to know what one from the other side has said.
So again if you have more info then post away. Not like my post could be twisted around some way.

If we hire Herman this place will explode.
What the frick has Herman done to warrant a explosion? It's Houston people. Their SOS barely gets in the top 50.
He has done well playing a weak schedule that doesn't nearly match a LSU top 10 schedule year in and year out.
But I guess I should expect people going off on Herman since a lot people went off on O after his 3-0 start without even thinking about the fact those wins came against teams without much of a pulse on defense.

This is why:
Weak schedule or not the guy produces on the big stage against top competition when he gets that opportunity.

As for how Herman's teams have performed as underdogs, going back to his time as offensive coordinator at Ohio State, look at this 11-0 streak:
2012 Ohio State 17, 2-point favorite Michigan State 16
2012 Ohio State 21, 1-point favorite Wisconsin 14
2014 Ohio State 49, 4-point favorite Michigan State 37
2014 Ohio State 59, 4-point favorite Wisconsin 0
2014 Ohio State 42, 7.5-point favorite Alabama 35
2014 Ohio State 42, 6-point favorite Oregon 20
2015 Houston 34, 13.5-point favorite Louisville 31
2015 Houston 52, 1.5-point favorite Navy 31
2015 Houston 38, 7.5-point favorite Florida State 24
2016 Houston 33, 13-point favorite Oklahoma 23
2016 Houston 36, 17-point favorite Louisville 10
Weak schedule or not the guy produces on the big stage against top competition when he gets that opportunity.

No defense in sub par conferences...how many times does it have to be said?

I doubt Jimbo is just a smokescreen.
They will probably talk to both Jimbo and Herman, and try hard to get one of them.

Saban loss to UAB and ULM. How many elite coaches have done that?
shite just happens sometimes.

however I do bet he'd run a great program after learning from his mistakes
Let him prove that at ULL, but not at LSU.
Jimbo is less than a year removed from winning 49 games in four years, played in three BCS bowl games in that time, and won a NC. You have to be retarded to even think about passing on him because he had a bad loss.

Stopped reading.
I am not saying he cant be great at LSU, but claiming him to be a HR hire because he has been successful as an OC or HC playing a weak SOS is a big time assumption.

Guys and gals, I think it is clear that there are chess games going on here. Just a whole lot of misdirection coming from LSU, Sexton and cronies of the potential coaches involved (yeah I meant it in plural). Reading between the lines and the tea leaves LSU has a Plan A, B, C and D moving in different directions. If anyone thinks we are all in on just one candidate without having back up plans they haven't been paying enough attention. What ends up being the final result is anyone's guess.

what are you calling sub par conferences? we hired our previous two coaches from the big 10 and big 12 respectively. currently the favorite is from the acc, where he has won a natty. the two i referenced are in the acc and big 12.
or would you prefer we hire a coach from the aac?
