Looking at the 55 inch versions of these two TVs. The Samsung is 999$ and the OLED is 1700$
Is the jump in price worth it for the OLED?

Hell no.
Get the 60" KS8000 for $1197, best performance for size and value.
The 55" is solid too at $997.

Go check them out at your local Best Buy. I really like the OLED colors.

OLED's unbelievably deep blacks and incredible contrast are almost matched by Sony's HDR technology, but just almost. Colors pop out without appearing cartoonish. That said, the B6 comes nowhere near as close in performance as the G6 Signature series and at that cost difference (between the B6 and the 8000), I would likely choose the Samsung.

OLED doesn't get bright enough for HDR content. I would buy the Samsung easily over the LG.

Cool, thanks for he reply guys. My girlfriend seemed to think the Samsung looked better then the OLED.
Next question. Yall think 55 or 60 would be to big for a bedroom? Currently have a 60 LG plasma in living room, trying to decide if I should just get the 55 for the bedroom or get the newer Samsung in the 60 and move the plasma to the bedroom.

this.
I moved my 50" plasma to my bedroom after buying a JS8500 early this year
an added bonus is the plasma will keep your bedroom warm during the winter
