A smarter politician reading the tea leaves would see this as a way to trash the climate accords, which are effectively transfer payments from first world countries to developing countries which will end up back in the hands of corrupt autocrats.
I could see Hollande going out on a limb like this. Sarkozy doing it is a slight surprise.

I like Texas' property tax. I have an issue with the Robin Hood bill they passed for "Wealth Equalization" which then drives up property taxes further to cover previously allocated expenses.
