I've caught hell here in Portland. I try not to antagonize people here by minding my own business. The people in my building and at work know I'm an LSU fan because I wear a LSU baseball cap. So they assume I voted for Trump. I did, but that's not the point. I've had several people come up to me belligerently, even a few old people and ask if I voted for Trump. I just say it's none of your business who I voted for. Of course, I haven't been downtown because of the riots. I would hate to think what the college kids would do if I wore my LSU cap downtown.

Can you imaging the delicious irony when illegals flood their borders only to find that their utopian welfare state cannot stand under the crumbling weight of 30 million immigrants?

I can.

The thing is, it's not even half the states of Oregon and Washington that are liberal. I live in eastern Washington and I'll say this- the central and eastern sections of Oregon and Washington are some of the most conservative bastions in the United States.

If anything, the far west coasts of Oregon and Washington should form their own state/country but leave the other 75% of our region alone. The rest of us are hunters/fishers/mountain men that overwhelmingly reject leftist bullshite.

Yep. Most people I know are better aligned with the values of this board than the progressives. You get to Downtown Portland and the college aged Kids is where it gets whacky.

I love the idea, but giving up an entire coastline that grants us a ton of tactical advantages seems like a huge price to pay.

Maybe we just cut California in half and let SoCal be its own thing.

Just when you thought the west coast liberals were on the verge of reaching DEFCON 1 status with their post election hysteria. Some have gone to the extent of dreaming up a west coast #wexit and a union with British Columbia. If so, kiss bye bye to 80 Dem electoral votes.

Wow, how soon can we make this happen. I vote yes.

Rally, someone needs to grab some of these SJW snowflakes by the neck and slap them around and tell them to grow up and join the real world.

Besides if "Cascadia" or "Nuvo Calfornia" seceds, we in the rest of he country are under NO obligation to send them water from the Colorado or the Great Lakes.

and with the rust belt turning RED and VA, NH amd MN so close to being red the dems would never win again here. Still need to purge broward and miami dade counties. dallas and houston areas also. Then we will be set!

Food. they produce it.

They get proportional arms, planes, some nukes, bases, ships.

I am sure it would be best for all concerned. northeast ignored flyover anyway.

I fully support their right to leavre the union and I hope they do. The true Americans in those states can leave and move east and the regressive leftists in our country can leave and move west. Man, I hope all this secession talk comes to fruition.

I don't know why dividing up the country in 2 or 3 or 4 chunks is considered so "out there".

These nuts are thoroughly hysterical. Imagine the outright vengeance they will try to enact the next time they win.

The country keeps swinging back and forth, which has resulted in wheel spinning since 2000.

The country was designed so the states could vary a lot with limited central government but the left wants to jam uniformity down everybody's throats. Some on the right do too but a lot more on the right wouldn't give a shite what the left half of the country did if it couldn't affect them.

Break it up, let them compete, see who wins.

So what's actually stopping them? Are they just stomping their feet and throwing a tantrum?

You would also lose around $400 Billion in tax revenue, not to mention the countries major technology base.

My principles aren't for sale.

As far as tech, there's nothing inherent about the left coast that requires tech companies to locate there.

Vote for a smaller federal government if you don't like it.
