Ok. He said that he hopes we hire him in a Bama perspective. He thinks we are playing on emotion and our talent is already crazy. Les miles was just holding them back. Coach O has already coaches at ole miss and USC and has been decent if that. I'm just wondering your thoughts about this. Is it really coach O or is it the players.

The same players weren't motivated and weren't put in any position to win at all 4 weeks ago.
We have guys who actually think they are gonna make a difference, gonna touch a ball, and young guys who know they will get some playing time at some point.
I'm sure it's fun to be a part of

Plus the fans aren't making this decision. We can hope all we want but it's not our decision. Just like it wasn't that bama fans decision to hire Saban.
We can be emotional all we want. It's not our decision.

I mean, yeah, all of that is pretty agreeable. LSU is loaded as people will see with this and next years' draft. Coach O is about as perfect of an interim coach you can have in terms of taking a team with low morale and injecting life into them. In terms of being a long term coach, the jury is still out with substantial evidence (3 years) pointing toward no. LSU is above taking a chance otherwise. Put emotion aside and realize when every other SEC fanbase is hoping we hire him, it's telling.

Duh, every team in the SEC is praying LSU hires Coach O. That should tell you all you need to know.

I think CEO at the helm, a slam dunk hire at offensive coordinator and defensive line, and a full offseason together will have us back as a consistent top 10 team.

If he wins out, the job is his. And I hope he wins out.
He's not the same coach he was at ole miss. The guy has changed. Personally, I'd wait too the end of the season to make this call

I keep saying it every time it's brought up

1. It's the players, coach O hasn't done anything that any other coach that wasn't a stubborn jackass would do in a similar situation.

2. We have still played nobody.

Aranda's defense has been beastmode all year, Fournette is a freak of nature, Guice isn't far behind, and Etling is average enough with ridiculous talent to throw to.

Other teams' fan do hope we hire him because they see what's going on without all the emotion attached to their reasoning.

Being emotional and cheap is what kept Miles here after last year's debacle and it seems like history might repeat itself this year if some of these wackos have anything to say about it.

Hmm. So a really good recruiter in a talent rich state can get great talent to play with excitement and dominate. I'll take it.

He's 9-2 in his last 11 games. That's after filling in for teams that were so bad they fired coaches mid-season. He can win with talent -PERIOD. He took over an awful OM team. They fired him a year too early, just like Cutcliff.
