If Jimbo wants the job, then that's who LSU should target.
After him, it's interesting how the pecking order would shape up.

Lets wait and see if he beats Clemson tonight. If he does, best coach out there, if not we want O!

So him losing to a top 4 team with a freshman qb decides if he's worthy or not

Don't you know we judge coaches on a week to week basis around here?

I just don't get the whole "if O beats Alabama" or "if Jimbo beats Clemson" bullshite. So...if O loses to Bama, Jimbo loses to Clemson, and Herman loses another one. Then what???? This one game evaluation crap is emotion based. The entire body of work and long term, big picture is what needs to be evaluated.
Jimbo Fisher should be LSU's next coach no matter what coach O does.

As long as he never loses
Lmao. Right!
Hey i aksed you a question but i think the thread got buried or deleted.
Do you have any clue about rumblings in the FSU athletic department? Are they even entertaining the idea of a coaching change? Like if chip kelly or someone like that was available? Just curious how hard they would fight to keep Jimbo if LSU comes knocking. Any idea?

Was listening to ESPN radio this morning and a local radio guy for FSU said there's no doubt that there were talks between the parties last year and interest was mutual. However it never got to an agreement stage. He didn't see why he would leave other than the idea that sometimes things get stale and he really did enjoy his time at LSU, so he didn't completely discount the possibility.
eta. If it's about making the best possible hire for LSU to position the program to meet its maximum potential for the foreseeable future, you should be willing to let Jimbo name his price. I would imagine it'd be tough for him to say no to 6.5 million or so with the same commitment to assistant pay LSU exhibited under Miles.

I haven't heard a thing. They would never fire Jimbo.
I wouldn't fight too hard too keep him. He hasn't exactly done much the last 2.5 years to get a big raise.

But Herman is the man! He can out recruit Saban and O. Recruits would be lined up to come here. He can out coach jimbo and petrino. I mean look what he's done with Houston in that powerhouse conference.
This board has told me so.

I agree. My point/thought i brought to you, which i think got erased in a deleted thread was:
Maybe it's best for all parties if jimbo goes to LSU. LSU gets a top coach on their board. FSU isn't paying through he nose to get rid of him. FSU actually gets paid to move on. Then they go after Kelly or someone like that with their extra cash in hand.
That's why i was curious about any rumblings there. Was curious how hard they would actually fight to keep jimbo if lsu is pursuing him as their top choice.

Been my #1 choice from day 1. To me, whoever is second is not even close. LSU needs to do whatever it takes to make this happen.
