Can get the same deal on Amazon Prime or you can get the Lyric by itself for $146.

Any advantage to the Nest over the Lyric? What about the new Lyric that just came out you posted a couple a weeks ago?

Just bought a Sensi for my upstairs thermostat, now thinking I maybe should have gotten this one. Probably very similar.

Had one of my thermostats die and went to order one of these finally, the reviews on this is not good by any means. Apparently they suck arse. Probably going to get an Ecobee Lite.

Sorry bumped an old one cause me and CAD have discussed this before. You don't want one of these anyway. I was surprised to see how bad the reviews are for this, I was really wanting one.

Water leak detector? I'd probably use the crystal I got for my wedding more than that thing

Lyric is a family of products. When I read the title I thought it was buy a control panel get the sensors for free

What problems did you have with the thermostat ?

I had an old dumb thermostat crap out. I was about to order the lyric and saw the reviews were bad for it. Did some more digging and found out this one sucks. It was all hype when it released and it didn't live up to it. Sucks, it looked like a cool product. I ordered an Ecobee Lite.

I mean... The air goes on the air goes off. The heat goes on the heat goes off. With wifi you can connect it to to a smart app.

The biggest concern is how many HVAC configurations it can support and usually Honeywell supports virtually any oddball.

What did the reviews hate?

I'm willing to bet most of the issues are due to a poor network and or installation. I heard geofencing was in issue but not sure if that was while in the Lyric eco system on total connect or with the thermostat is being used stand alone.

I'm always skeptical with consumer reviews. Working in the industry I've been given similar products for free in exchange for 5 star Internet reviews.

geofencing is stupid and useless.

They need to come up with a more sophisticated standard that uses your home wifi in combination with GPS because every geofencing application sucks at the moment

Very cheaply made and lots of failures.

Terrible software is common, but I wouldn't use that much since it has integration with homekit and alexa. The homekit integration is extremely buggy on it as well.

Same, I dig some digging around the web outside of places like Amazon. Seems a lot of people were extremely disappointed in this one. Said you were better off going with one of the older lower priced Honeywells that support wifi.

I'm 7-0 on installing refurbs. Everyone I talked into these love them.

link to any application of it that doesn't result in constant false positives?

I don't disagree with the concept, but the way it's implemented doesn't work.

I've seen it work in the real world many times.

Geofencing is the selling point of this thermostat, that you love so much, over the Nest. Nest is a learning thermostat that learns your habits or doesn't in order to set the temp in your house. The Lyric stat doesn't need to attempt to guess when you are home or not it knows exactly when you are home or on the way home and makes adjustments.

Opening an app on your phone and adjusting your temp manually is cool but being able to automate that is even better. Leave the house temp adjust, leave the office to return home for the evening temp adjust. All without pushing a button. Now that's smart home automation.

I haven't spent much time with this Lyric family but will over the next year. So I'll see how good or bad they are real soon.
