Why O is Not the man for the Job

I saw an interesting thread trying to prop O up as the front runner for the full time HC and figured I'd do the opposite.
Let's first clarify something, I like Coach O. I think he's a great representative for the school and the state. I like that he comes from cajun country and sounds almost exactly like my grand father. I would love to try his jambalaya, word on the street is it's pretty damn good. I think, if I'm completely honest, he has potential as a HC. I don't doubt he's learned from his past mistakes and probably picked up a few things coaching under some great coaches. All that said, he's STILL not the best option for LSU.
We all feel this program is elite, agree? We all know this is a top 5 job in the country with the resources, recruiting base, fan base, and facilities. There's a very strong argument that there is really only place that is a better job (Notice I said there's an argument not that it is fact). All that being said, shouldn't a top tier program have a top tier Head Coach? Do you honestly believe Coach O is a better coach than Herman or Jimbo or Fedora or Kelly or Fleck or (insert other big names floating around)? If you do, then you just don't know football and I'd venture to say you don't know sports in general.
This is a turning point in this program. This hire will affect the program for 10+ years. The wrong hire puts on par with USC in the post Carrol age or Florida in the post Meyer age. If you're ok with that, sure hire O. If you want to compete for championships, you go big. This moment is too critical to waste on anything more than a homerun hire. Making an emotional hire could have dire consequences for this program. Put aside how much you like Coach O and try to look at this objectively. Don't get caught up in the PR campaign or the fact that he's racking up big numbers on offense (He knows he has to do that if he wants a shot at the job). Be honest with yourselves about who's really right for the program and can bring us back to the promised land.
Here's the WHY's: (ETA for a few of you O lovers)
1.) Outside of his stint as Interim at USCe and LSU, he's been a failed Head Coach.
2.) The only opportunity he had to RUN A PROGRAM he failed. This is not just about on the field coaching. This isn't high school. The next coach has to build and/or maintain this program at an elite level. That is about 20% actual coaching. Recruiting he gets an A+. The biggest knock on him at Ole Miss was he was too much of a players coach and failed to maintain discipline OFF the field.
3.) Just because he may have learned from his mistakes doesn't make him worthy of showcasing what he's learned at LSU. If we were a smaller program, he'd be a fantastic hire.
4.) The emotions from this season will where off. No matter what some of you tell yourselves, this season has a lot more to do with emotions than you'd like to admit. The firing of a coach is an emotional period for players and many tend to rally around the interim to prove themselves. What happens when that emotion is gone?
5.) He's admitted he wanted to a deligater. I'm sorry, but delegaters don't make the best head coaches. Look wherever you like, college, pro, doesn't matter. The best coaches in football are involved on one side of the ball or other. Examples: Sean Payton has a heavy hand in the offense. Bill Belicheck has a heavy hand the defense. Saban, defense. Meyer, Offense. Fisher, offense. Pick whoever you want. The best coaches in football are more than just delegaters.
6.) He's never been a coordinator. His resume consists of a ton of DLine Coaching stints, one failure as a head coach, a 6-2 record in the interim at USCe, and 3-0 interim at LSU. He's been involved is schemes before, of course. But he's never been the head of scheming. He's never worked out a game plan and executed it from a coordinator stand point.
Need I go on?

O is a better recruiter than all of those coaches that you named. and, since he's not a micro manager, he's perfect for all of the talent that he recuits. so.......get a top tier OC/DC and roll with it.

How can you put this aside? It is part of it, and a reason people like him is because he's changed things and we're winning. And at no point did you give a valid reason why O is not the man for the job.

Herman and Jimbo should be pursued as possible replacements. Kelly ain't coming. That's dumb. Saying Fedora or Fleck is top tier is also dumb. Coach O can be successful here. He already has been.

Right so why would fedora or fleck be an option if this effects 10+ years. Must want us to end up like Texas.

Jimbo under acheives and Herman has been a head coach for 2 years... This season is the first season we have seen him face adversity and he has not handled it well... Are we really wanting to give him the keys to our great program just after 2 years of being a head coach?? IF we are going to look somewhere else, we need to be looking at PJ Fleck.

I am curious to know who you think legitimately would come to LSU that is better than Coach O at this point. That LSU could afford... Why not have a great recruiter and a Fantastic motivator like Coach O is? Not saying give him the job today, but the statement "He's not LSU's best option" leaves me in question... as to who the heck can we get..

This is the definition of being emotional. The man has won 3 MOTHER frickING GAMES. All he's done is shorten practice and change formations on offense. He's not reinventing the wheel here.

It will look extremely bad on LSU if he wins out and not get the job.

I say we go coachless. Let the players figure it out.

Jimbo won a national title 2 years ago, I'm struggling to see how that is under acheiving?
Herman's team is not going to play for him because they know he's gone.

Do you not read the board?
There have been multiple posts about this, I suggest posting on those threads. Seems like a post like this starts everyday

So you wouldn't rather this staff? Who's gonna recruit Louisiana like Juluke and O

I don't see how you can include Herman in that argument.
Never a HC at a P5 school, only been a HC (FBS or FCS) for 1.7 seasons.
I'm not saying Herman shouldn't be considered or CEO is the man for the job, I'm just saying you are arguing, it seems because you never say it, that there's a minimum resume/experience at 'elite' programs. Using that metric, you can't include Herman and exclude CEO.
