A lot of tough talk in this thread by people who would probably have done the same thing McQueary did.

GTFO. You cannot truly believe that. Any decent human would stop the rape of child. McQueary deserves all the shite he gets for being a coward

To play devils advocate here, he probably went thru several stages of denial himself.

Everyone is convincing him that he didn't see what he saw, he doesn't want to believe what he saw, and PSU's god is telling him he didn't see what he saw (or something to that effect).

During college I convinced myself that I wasn't a fatass even though I saw it in the mirror everyday. Denial is a powerful drug.

That doesn't make mcqueary a good person or in the right but I understand what happened

I don't understand how someone could witness that and not immediately stop it. He knew exactly what was happening at that time, there was no denial at all. It is just your duty as a man and a human being to do something at that moment. The fact that he never called the cops either really really bothers me. I hope his life is ruined and if it is, he deserves all of it.

If anybody wants to sue Penn State for anything, now is the time to do it. It would have to be a very shitty case for it to lose.

Didn't he inform the VP who oversaw the police dept?

Yes he told Paterno, the next day Paterno had him tell the following people:

then President Graham Spanier, VP Schultz who oversaw the police, and athletic director Former Athletic Director Tim Curley.

Why haven't those three people stood trial yet? It has been years (Paterno died in 2012)
How is Spanier still employed at Penn State?

Penn State ruined his name just to defend against their child rape cover up.

He ruined his own reputation by not intervening, by waiting 24 hours to say anything, and by going only to JoePa and not the police.

Penn State didn't lie about the soulless ginger. He's radioactive because people disapprove his actions, not because people believe anything about him that isn't true.

So I can just walk into a college facility and do whatever I want just like the "victim" did. The "victim" should be charged with trespassing and if he isn't then I cannot be charged for trespassing and can go wherever I want in a college facility.

Could be the shock factor. Another witness was a janitor who served in combat in Korea. The janitor saw his fellow soldiers blown to pieces on the battlefield, and he said Sandusky was the worst thing he ever saw. He was so traumatized that he was curled up in a fetal position hyperventilating.

It's the long term reaction that makes McQueary look bad. The subsequent victims should sue McQueary for that money.

He told Paterno and his dad. But yeah should've told the police too.

I thought I heard there was a "security official" there when he reported what he saw? I may be wrong?

He should have taken Option A. Run across that shower and beat that old man to death or until you run out of bones in your own hands and wrists to break.

Probably the only time in your life you get a "murder pass". Hell he'd probably be a HC or OC by now if he had.

Is this the guy that saw something happening in the shower and just walked away?

He heard the "rhythmic slapping". I am all but certain he thought he was gonna sneak up and frick with a player or fellow coach who brought a sloot in the field house. Probably stood there slack jawed and vomiting in his mouth for a bit.

I believe he made a sound (cleared throat probably) to let him know he was there. So the child rape stopped. Then he reported what he saw. But that timeline is sketchy?

I have never understood why this guy has gotten sympathy. Life dealt him a tough circumstance with what he happened upon, but it's your duty as a human to step up and help that kid. 99% of able bodied men would have gone ape shite and beat the dog shite out of Sandusky, or AT LEAST made sure the police were involved. The fact that he doubled down on being a coward by first running away and then going to Paterno instead of the cops means he is forever a villain, and undeserving of any compensation for his "reputation" being tarnished.

I wish I could get paid 7.3 million after not telling the cops I saw an old man plowing some kid in the butt.
