BELLEFONTE, Pa. -- A jury awarded a former Penn State assistant football coach $7.3 million in damages Thursday, finding the university defamed him after it became public that his testimony helped prosecutors charge Jerry Sandusky with child molestation. Jurors deliberated for about four hours in Mike McQueary's defamation and misrepresentation suit.

Good. frick Pedophile State University and their support, encouragement, and outright admiration of child rape and child rape enablers.
Now that they beat Ohio State last week they will ride that win for the next 5 years. It will be like A&M continuing to ride their 2012 Alabama win to this day.

Good. He fricked up by not reporting it initially, but he redeemed himself by testifying.

He told Paterno and his dad. But yeah should've told the police too.

Didn't he inform the VP who oversaw the police dept?

Good for him. Paterno was the alpha and omega at Penn State so he probably thought reporting it to him was the same thing as going to the police.
Paterno was the enabling POS.

I believe I remember someone saying something to the university police. The article doesn't say and I can't remember. Still, the Sandusky grand jury reports was one of the most horrifying things I've ever read.

You're right. I meant that in this situation, there is no chain of command. Go straight to the cops.

I don't get it... I know he was done wrong and drug through the mud, but $7,300,000???
He fricked up... HE should have went to the police, not the fricking football coach

Penn State ruined his name just to defend against their child rape cover up. Just like Penn State ruined the lives of countless children who were raped by a monster that they knew about and chose not to stop.

Great. Now when he gets sued by victims for his failures, he'll have some money to give them.

He grew up in State College. Played at Penn St. Coached at Penn St. Likely would have never left if Sandusky never happened and the new coach offered him a position.
Penn St. in return scapegoated him.
His wife left him. He hasn't worked in coaching since and likely never will.
His life if effectively ruined.
If I were him I would gladly trade the $7.3mil to go back in time and never accept the GA position under JoePed.

He was a 25ish ex pro football player who saw a 70 year old man raping a boy and just ran away leaving the boy in the same predicament. He should hang himself.
If Jake Plummer or Steve Taneyhill saw that shite, they'd have slit his throat on the spot with their pocket knife.

Yeah, that was completely unacceptable. The fact he felt the need to tell Paterno and not the police just tells me he was part of the protectionist mindset too.
He's a piece of shite and if I were him I couldn't live with myself.

That was exactly my point, but I was blasted for it
