if h only loses one with this schedule and lsu doesnt hire him. someone WILL...considering what he has done here and USC

The only nightmare scenario is O joining Saban as their recruiting coordinator

most likely, yes
but not a top job
he will end up at a Rutgers or FIU or some place

Lol, Bama is number one in recruiting every year and pretty much get who they want. How will them getting Orgeron make them any better?
Posted on 10/26/16 at 10:42 am to adamb2151
It would and Saban would jump right on it if O leaves LSU disgruntled. Saban better than anyone understands the potential with the right guy here.
Posted on 10/26/16 at 10:44 am to adamb2151
because its addition from subtracting from us. saban loves that kinda stuff

It was a joke post for all these coach O threads.
But yeah we pass him over and he's all frick yall I'll go recruit for him. Let's not act like Saban wouldn't welcome him there to just recruit

If Saban wanted him that bad he wouldve hired him after he was let go from USC when he brought in Kiffin.

The only nightmare scenario happened in 2007 when Saban went to Alabama. Any other coach in any other program will never have the impact that Saban to Alabama had over the last 9 years. Including Oregeron going elsewhere.
If you give Oregeron the job, will be interesting to see what he does with the staff. Does he keep Grimes? Does he bring in a new OC? How long can he keep Aranda? Do these coaches on staff like working for him?

are you all for keeping Ensminger too?
Ensminger is not interested in being an OC long-term anymore. He's just helping out because he was asked to in a critical situation.

It might under the present circumstances. Why wouldn't O take a shorter deal, he wants the job and as others have written no one else wants him.
He has nothing to lose by taking a 2 year deal.

If he runs the table, it would be hard to deny the man. It would be hard even at 6-1.
Every game except Alabama, LSU should have a 60% or better chance of winning.

y'all got a link for this?
I keep seeing this repeated but not sure where it is coming from

maybe a 2 year deal.
You absolutely CAN'T hire a HC and give him a 2 year contract in the recruiting world he will always be asked "WILL YOU BE THERE AFTER 2 YEARS?" and the negative recruiting from our competition on that point will be ferocious.

I would think these would be things Alleva would look into before offering the job to Orgeron. I would imagine Aranda's opinion of O would be a huge factor.

Orgeron has 30 years of experience mostly in big name programs. His d Lines in college have always been very good. I think he's the rough diamond that has finally been polished.
Look, LSU is a very good job, but after the fallout from the Miles situation - nationally, the perception is that LSU is a bit delusional

if we beat bama...im for signing him up.
How about we let the search play out and and let Alleva see what our options are before a decision is made.
The problem is we've seen predictable average football for a while, so too many people are ready to make a rash decision without all the info. LSU football is a multi-million dollar business, and it's worth taking the time to hire the best candidate. You can't do that if you sign someone up before the search is complete.
Even if they do eventually land on Orgeron, why do it after the Alabama game? You think he'll say no if the job is offered after the bowl games?

It came from someone related to him on 104.5 ESPN last week so no link. They stated he likes spending time with his family and being a full-time OC would disrupt that.

using the rationale to keep O, why would you not also use the same rationale to keep Ensminger? if O "earned" the HC job, why wouldn't Ensminger have earned the OC job?
I'll tell you why, bc replacing O means replacing everyone probably Aranda also which would be the biggest mistake LSU could make! LSU would be another year maybe two years behind on D. You replace everyone you get transfers, decommits, new offense, defense, new terminology, the new recruits could take 2 years to learn all this and Etling could also regress in a new system. He will most def have to learn a lot in the off season and we could waste his senior year. Depends on what happens the rest of the year but replacing the OC is NOTHING like replacing HC. If he wins out you keep him and most of the staff together plus ARANDA! Keep everything Miles was successful at in place and change only a few things could be the ticket for Os success.
You can't compare his OM tenure with what he would do here it's been over a decade and he's been on 2 legendary HC's staff since, the man has learned much much more about running a program since then. It's not fair to the man, what is his record or would be his record since learning about the failures? If he wins out it would be 13-2 in the regular season. If he wins the SEC and Bowl game it would be 15-2!! That's pretty impressive at two big schools in USC and LSU.
If O wins out he deserves the shot or if he keeps this team looking good GE deserves the shot. He's not going crazy on the sideline in fact I see a very calm HC even when losing he was pretty damn confident on the sideline and it made me confident that the man knew they hadn't showed them the big guns just yet. I'm sure that confidence spills into the assistants and players also. It's not fake confidence as I saw with Miles it is real like he knows what his team can do when they open it up. They did that and destroyed OM. There is also a huge difference in coaching at LSU in 2016 and coaching at OM in 2005!!! Huge!! I'm sure he felt enormous pressure to get the best talent there no matter their grades or issues off the field, he doesn't have that problem at LSU so stop with all this nonsense because that's exactly what it is. Let's just wait and see what happens the rest of the year and be glad that we can now LOVE watching our Tigers play football again. GT
