Yeah kinda how its ferocious at Houston right? No coach on the face of the planet can say for certain that he would be there even the next year. If he did he would be lying, all he could do is say, I'll give it my all and coach your son as if he were my own. That's all a coach can say to a parent.

I'll tell you why, bc replacing O means replacing everyone probably Aranda also which would be the biggest mistake LSU could make! LSU would be another year maybe two years behind on D. You replace everyone you get transfers, decommits, new offense, defense, new terminology, the new recruits could take 2 years to learn all this and Etling could also regress in a new system.

this is not a reason to keep O

Serious question:

If Alabama hired Ed Orgeron after Saban left, would you be nervous to play them?

What about Arkansas? A&M?

Does the thought of Ed Orgeron being hired by them scare anyone other than the fact he'd steal a couple Louisiana recruits each year?

are you all for keeping Ensminger too?

I can't speak for OP, but if this team wins out I'm for keeping everyone and anyone who had a significant role in the team's turnaround.

If Orgeron is coaching somewhere else its because we hired a better qualified candidate. Chances are O will not be hired at a major college. His resume as head coach will make alot of teams gun-shy. The two times he has been interim head coach, he has been fortunate enough to take over teams loaded with 4 and 5 star talent. Statistically these teams SHOULD perform well. Some of the performance may be attributed to O, however the only way to know for sure if he is head coach material is to guage how well he turns a program that lacks talent around. Hell, with our talent right now, Houston Nutt would even have some success. O may be one of the best recruiters in the nation. He is definitely Saban-esk in that aspect. But coaching? I wouldnt be crowning him king of that arena nust yet. I love O's dedication and drive but doesn't justify firing a successful head coach just to hire a career D-Line coach. LSU cant afford the risk.

I hope the man comes in and destroys Saban in 2 weeks and still hear people say get rid of him. Yeah judge a man on his accent that's real smart of our fans. Forget what he's actually doing on the field and off the field for LSU lets get rid of him bc he's a dumb Cajun bc every Cajun is dumb. Frickn retards man! Y'all are the dumb ones to think we would get rid of a coach that just beat bama, something we haven't done in half a decade. It's exactly why some of our fans don't want him here also forget what he's doing for LSU at the moment let's look back at what he did at OM 11 years ago fresh into the league as HC and let's forget what he's done since then.

If he beats the rest of our schedule you or anyone else give me a good reason to get rid of him considering everything?

I wouldn't want to get rid of him, although that would probably happen due to circumstances

I would love for him to return back to DL coach

I just do not think O is qualified for the position

If he wins out, rest assured, he will more than likely get the job though

In the same breath if he doesn't beat Bama or A&M the toughest games left then LSU should absolutely go after another coach Herman I hope. Losing 2 games at Houston or not the man has that team playing good football and knows how to put together a staff. He's smart, young and determined. I hope who ever come in is smart enough to keep Orgeron, Aranda, and Raymond on staff at the very least keep Aranda.

if we beat bama...im for signing him up. maybe a 2 year deal. close out anothe top 5 recruiting class. its OBVIOUS the man can coach light years better then miles...

What if we beat Bama, but get smoked by Fla and Arky? Also, there is no doubt Coach O has done a great job delegating, but lets see how he performs under pressure in crucial situations. I'd like to see his clock management and decision making ability with the game on the line.

CEO's press conference persona has been improving over the last month. This is easily seen if people actually cared to pay attention. It's like the old Colonel Reb video is stuck on play I their heads.

It looks like he is getting advice from Jenkins or someone concerning how to represent a program better than just being the mad Cajun DL coach.

BTW, Fournette has a similar accent and his character is beyond reproach. Sure he is not going for a HC job but it's a valid point. I am proud of being Cajun and it got me a lot of ladies across the country when I was young. Nobody thought that I was dumb at all.

If he earns the job then give it to him. Own it. He has character oozing out of his pours and he owns it and that is confidence.

" why not at least retain coach O"

A primary evaluation factor when hiring someone is to find out if they have ever performed functions closely resembling those that you want performed in the current job opening and if so, how well were they performed. His past head-coaching results will be a major obstacle for him to overcome. imo

If O goes 6-1 and you don't want to retain him and his staff
then tell me who you would hire that would PROBABLY (Not even guaranteed to) do a better job than O's proven performance. And whether your pick(s) would probably (not even guaranteed to) take the job. I'll hang up and listen.

Ha, well, I'll take my chances. No other school wants him as head coach.
