Actually I think its a good hire, provided he brings in a good DC. By getting another major college head job he basically got parolled off death row. I think he will be a model citzen from here on out. If he does that he can do some good things at UCLA.

Neuheisel is the Steve Howe of college coaches.

It isnt a matter of if he will frick up, it is simply when

no probation, he will fly right.
had only minor infractions at CU, and alot of people are unaware that he sued the UW and NCAA over wrongful termination, and won 3-5 MIL.

give him two years to beat USC, four years to be in Rose.

Very good hire; sec schools who passed him over will soon regret it.

Neuheisel is the perfect fit for UCLA and will ( in 3 years) be very comeptitive with SC. Not every school is the right fit. UCLA is the right fit, and he will create BUZZ on the West Coast, recruit well, and bring energy to the program. I think he has learned his lesson on following rules. I'll take the over on the probation.

Slick Rick might do OK at UCLA. At Washington, he had a history of lying to the AD besides his NCAA March Madness pool trouble. The pool trouble was not his fault in some ways because he had an email from a lawyer at UW saying it was OK. Plus he won his lawsuit against UW and the NCAA, and I for one was glad to see the NCAA take it on the chin for once.

Rick won early at UW with the previous coach's players, particularly Marcus Tuiasosopo, but the team got worse each year. In addition, he was very poor at recruiting linemen--the panty was empty when he left. He's really was not as good a recruiter as a lot of people seem to think, but he might do better at UCLA.
