Ammo, politics, and stocking up

This is something I'm quietly thinking about, and making some moves on.
Here's the basic gist of it, without getting into any histrionics about it (I considered posting on the Political Talk board, but figured this would be the better forum to get good info):
We can buy ammo online, in bulk, for usually a fair amount less than we'll find in local shops (although I think this has led some places to keep their prices down).
We're approaching a presidential election where one candidate, the one that has led in almost every poll, has publically expressed an anti-gun message, and has used the phrase "internet loophole" several times. This candidate has a past history of unfavorable dealings with the firearms industry and market.
While it may be next to impossible for someone to directly affect "guns" head-on due to 2nd Amendment proponents, we've seen the past several years that ammo can be manipulated.
I'm sure we'll see a panic rush on ammo, but what would a wise amount to consider putting away?
What possible restrictions might likely be placed?
I guess internet sales might be clamped down on; I'm wondering if someone should consider a "normal" stash as always, or if they should consider a possible 4 year (length of term) supply instead.
Also wondering about the following- there are occasional press remarks about someone having "huge" amounts (which often might be just a single case bought in bulk; something we've learned to do with Sams and Amazon for other consumable goods). Might there be some move to limit total amounts owned, so that someone who's bought a lot might have to turn it over or risk legal consequences?
Once the market swings, is it likely to rebound in the next election pricewise, or if things get a lot more expensive, will they stay up (we're seeing that now in 22lr to an extent)?
Also, I know a lot of folks reload (I don't)- are there concerns about getting components in the upcoming future... is that possibly threatened too?
For the record, I have self-defense purposes, but I mostly like to shoot at the range. I'm not into prepping for the apocalypse. I'm kind of getting a feel on what to expect, whether I need to change how much I use currently, whether my hobby is seriously threatened etc.
Thanks for any reasoned responses.

There are two reasons a person wants ammo imo
Normal use supply in case for some reason it becomes scarce
Or "shite hit the fan" supply for fending off attacks of zombies / foreign invaders / civil unrest situations.
I may only shoot 100 .223 rounds a year currently but worst case scenario I'll need that many in less than a day. No telling how many I could end up needing under such a scenario but no way I could afford it anyway. Not to mention losing mobility with all that ammo plus supplies.

Panic buying is dumb and what inflates the prices.

The only thing I'm buying is 30 round magazines for ARs. I have two new powers in consecutive serial numbers for my two sons that will he put together in the next few months. I don't see an issue buying the balance of the components besides the high capacity magazines. I think the lowers and magazines are the concern should the election prove to be rigged and the bitch is elected.

You are gonna be part of the problem. You are panic buying.
I couldn't find mf'ing 22 ammo to hunt squirrels with a few years ago because of the same bullshite Freaking 22 ammo!!
The last time we had this panic buying did any laws actually get changed? No. Because the POTUS can not go around congress and enact a law. It's all false outrage and mouthbreathers take it and run with it

Absolutely, this is speculation at its finest.
I plan on buying several cheap ARs and Aks before the election and selling them for double after the election, then buy them back for less than I originally paid after the hysteria dies down.

The polls are horribly oversampled and are merely a diversion to the fact that she's losing. Despite the media blasting Trump at any and every available opportunity, he's still close in these "polls." Yet, if you look around, there is not fanatical support for Hillary like there is for Trump. The "change" candidate almost always beats the "status quo" candidate if there's enough support behind him. Plus the media oversold Obama's lead by a large margin when he beat Romney by not very much.
If the election ends up being rigged, I'll happily dine on some crow.
As for stocking up, my rule is pretty simple - I get a couple hundred hollow points for each cartridge (9, 40, 45, 5.56) every couple months. I now have about 500 hollow points for each with some variety for each. Gold dots, HSTs, PDX1s, Golden Sabers, Critical Defense, just to name a few.
Don't panic buy, but smartly pick up ammo where you can. But if you're that worried about a Hillary Clinton presidency, I would make an order really soon.

What's the enforcement mechanism?
I would say that a 4-year supply looks to be arbitrary call. Either ammunition availability will remain roughly the same or the rights will be further eroded, likely never to return.
Not to be melancholy, but we are on a downslope away from liberty in this area - the left has done a good job of demonizing guns, ammunition and gun owners. Outside of the south and fewer and fewer Western enclaves, gun "rights" have been replaced largely be either a notion of prohibition or, at best, extreme privilege.

People on this board truly believe nothing will happen if Clinton gets in office? She's already said as much and she's one determined witch.
