Piped in Music is killing the Tiger Stadium atmosphere

We have a Damn Strong Band sitting in the stands doing nothing. The piped in music is crap and doesn't connect with 80% of the fans. The USM band had more fun tonight. This is a college stadium with the atmosphere of a cheap arena football team. Second half was a mixture of 80s rock and bad car commercial hip hop. The Alumni band got to play Hey Fighting Tigers and rocked it.
Fans will always leave a overpriced seat when its a bullshite atmosphere.

It's a terrible atmosphere with the music they're playing in between plays. The band is just sitting there and half the time you can't hear the pa announcer over the music.

Wouldn't be a big deal if it was just limited a little more. Coordinate the piped in music less. Play it for kickoffs, kick returns and timeouts. Let the band play between offensive and defensive plays and between quarters.

I don't give a shite about if it appeals to the fans at all. But if it remotely gets a player ready for kickoff or a play by hearing a song, whether that's "Bitch I'm From Louisiana" or the damn Spice Girls, play that shite.
I will agree that their music selection is garbage, though. To be fair, they likely can't play a lot of the shite players want to hear.
However, I would say maybe 1% of all people who leave their "overpriced seat" do it because they're hearing Van Halen instead of the band for during a stoppage in play. People leave because LSU games are a major social event, people want to be seen there and say they were there, and they leave once they see it as socially acceptable.

I agree. I hate the piped in music, the exception being "Bitch, I'm from Loweeziana" which has to be the greatest song ever written.

On one occasion, the LSU/ USM band were both playing, and they just started that bounce shite right over both of them. Terrible and takes away from the college football experience.

It's not about the fans...it's about what gets the guys amped to make a play on 3rd down, etc.
The band gets their time when we play offense. Doesn't seem like too many people hate the piped in music while were on defense inside the stadium.

Glad you posted this. Was thinking the exact same thing during the game. It's a HUGE turn off and has been for a long time. Everyone that sits around us feels the same.

They could be playing "Hey Baby", "Neck", "Tiger Rag", "Callin Baton Rouge", "Eye of the Tiger", This gets the crowd fired up.
What's strange is the playlist for baseball games is great, I love the piped in music there. But, we've got our band during football, they should be playing - and most of what they play will get the crowd involved.
They need to let them play Neck. Tell the tv stations, they need to cut the mic or use a prerecorded band version of neck. Save it for late in the fourth quarter.
