The ending of Back To The Future 3 completely undermines the entire franchise

All 3 movies revolve around the idea that time travel is difficult and dangerous. Part 1 and 3's major premise is that fixing/fueling the Delorean in the time period the characters are in is extremely hard. The 2nd film (and parts of the 3rd) sees Doc constantly (and correctly) bemoaning how easily time travel can be abused/misused.
After all that, how does it end? A perfect end scene showing the time machine destroyed and it all being for the best is sullied when Doc shows up, somehow having created an entirely new time machine out of late 19th, early 20th century technology (so what was the point of part 1 and 3 again?) and then transporting himself as well as his wife and children to at least both 1985 and 2015(ish), completely disregarding everything that happened in part 2. It's a ridiculous scene and flies in the face of EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED IN ALL 3 MOVIES.
Even as a kid i thought this ending was dumb and it pisses me off to this day every time i see it.

The way I see it, Doc is in TM1 and sent back to old west. Marty finds TM1 in the present and uses it to go back to the West. This becomes TM2 in the west, since Doc still has TM1 with him. Marty hides TM2 in a cave. Marty goes back to 1985 at the end in TM1. Judging by the ages of Doc's kids, he's then had around 10 years where he probably went find the TM2, used the relevant parts to build a train TM, traveled around to the future and whatnot, got parts to repair TM2 back to new, and left TM2 to be the TM that Marty uses to go back to the west in the next cycle of the time travel loop.

No No No No.
If Doc digs up the time machine he buried then Marty is stuck in 1955 and part 3 never happens. If he fixes and reburies then the beginning of part 3 doesn't happen the way it did bc they had to fix the DeLorean & who knows that with an already fixed delorean if Marty ever stumbles upon docs grave? Doc wouldnt take that chance. Also with an already fixed delorean then who knows if the fuel line ever gets hit with an arrow & part 3 happens totally differently & the delorean is never on that tracks to get hit.
if you retcon the entire 3rd movie then who knows what else changed. Why bother with the damn train anyway?

What I'm saying is that the beginning of part 3 is the first iteration of this time travel loop. I don't view BTTF time travel like, say Lost, where whatever happened, happened. Since BTTF has shown that you can change the future by going to the past, this tells me that there is a original version of things, that then can be mucked up by time travel. I even specifically explained what I think happens on the next iteration of the loop off the original version of events for how Doc still gets the TM to Marty in my previous post. It has nothing to do with him digging up the TM he buried for Marty. He's created the next loop, which is not what we see in part 3. Part 3 is the original version of events, everything stemming off of the end of the movie creates a different version of events for Marty finding the TM in 1955 because we are moving on to the second, third, etc iterations of the loop that has been created.

I'm pretty sure in the beginning though the letter 1885 Doc sent to Marty said component parts to fix the delorean weren't created until the 40's.

Also I edited my previous post to address a lot of what you're saying

I think you are missing the point of the ending. You can try to meddle with time all you want, but in the end only you and your decisions can shape your future.
ETA: it's a kids movie, it was always going to have a happy ending

That's why I said I think he uses the TM parts from TM2 on the train. Once he's got a working train TM, he can travel wherever he wants to get stuff to fix the TM2 sitting in the cave. Then he leaves TM2 for Marty to find in 1955. This begins the next loop off of the original version we see at the beginning of Part 3.
My main point, is that everything we see in Part 3 is the original version of events. At the beginning of part 3, Marty has never traveled back to help Doc yet. Once he does, the loop begins, but the next iteration will be changed based upon everything that happens in the movie.

6 FASCINATING FACTS ABOUT PETTICOAT JUNCTION
quote:
Seemingly everything on Petticoat Junction was a star, down to the vehicles and animals. The locomotive that served as the Hooterville Cannonball on the show was a storied Hollywood choo-choo. The Sierra No. 3 got its start early in westerns, chugging along Gary Cooper in The Virginian, High Noon and many more. The machine worked into the 1990s, even getting a time-traveling makeover in Back to the Future III.

I thought Yogi Berra was dead.

I was 10, flying time machine train was the best.
I see that scene as an Adult and think it was nuts, but at the time it was great.
