High ankle sprains take 4-6 weeks to heal with no practice. We don't need him for Southern Miss, and honestly Ole Miss defense isn't great. The mixture of Guice, Williams, and Brossette is enough to spread Ole Miss. He'll come back for Bama, but expect Ensminger, and Coach O to fake off him a lot, and throw to him as much as he gets handoffs.

I'm thinking the same thing, but it's just a gut feeling.

Sankey is trying to determine when Leonard will be rescheduled to play again.

I, for one, will miss LF7.

OK. I've said nothing on this since the Mizzou game because I was hoping to see if confirmed elsewhere.

Or. At least profferred elsewhere. Lid seems tight though.

But. There is word on the street that his lack of playing isn't entirely driven by injury and was a coaches decision.

Yes. I admit I can't prove this and the people who told me could be full of it.

But. They also aren't the type to normally stir shite so I just dunno

That's the dumbest thing I've heard yet. The dude hasn't even dressed out. You bring him back for ole miss so that he can shake the rust off before bama.

You F___ing people amaze me. I am beginning to wonder how many of you are over 18. He is a warrior and will be back. Do you, for one minute, think any NFL team would consider a player that "sat out" rather than play? He doesnt have the thought process that you ranters do....he is a football player and I doubt if many of you understand that concept...

We know he's hurt

And we saw him re-injure it multiple times this year

Must just be a great actor

He was on the field before the Missouri trying to prepare his teammates. Didn't look like someone who was checked out, looked like someone who has a lingering ankle sprain.

It be stupid to practice and play him right now.

I hope we see him, but rest, rest, rest. No need to let him back unless he's 100%.

I definitely think he has a high ankle sprain

at this point, I would have to agree with that...and if that is the case, I would expect a few more games out, if he comes back at all.

He didn't even dress out, has a player ever been so much in the doghouse that the coaches told them to just not dress out?

He had a high ankle sprain, dumbass Les Miles tried to get him to play on it, and high ankle sprains really suck and really really bother you. Fournette is just trying to get healthy, and Orgeron wants him to be 100%.

With Guice playing like he is, and LSU needing to throw the ball more anyways, Fournette might sit the next two weeks. That would be 5 weeks of sitting. He needs to be 100% for Alabama.

If I'm not mistaken, during a presser, CEO made a statement indicating that LSU wanted him back at 100%.

Glad they are resting LF7. With three other strong backs to lean on in his absence, LSU should be fine.

If he does come back by the time either the OM or Bama games are played, maybe it will give Ensminger some time to add more wrinkles that utilize Fournette without the other teams having the tape to use to their advantage.

Whenever he returns, will be glad to see him on the field again.

Question for the folks who think he is sitting out for the NFL, wouldn't it behoove him to maybe run sometime? 3 months standing around hurts a 40 time.

High ankle sprain + weak compition = resting

O has shortened the actual practice time. Does anyone know if Leonard is attending the film sessions? If he is, then all of this would make sense. I think his total absence from the offensive game preparation would be concerning.
