Let us all congregate to make the same cheeky comments about lawyers and commiserate about the state of the profession.
But congrats to the new lawyers and welcome to the most stressful fun you'll ever have.

My SO passed and my life instantly became less of a living hell.

Well, I grade bar exams. Shitloads of em, twice every year.
Yes, we have way too many people graduating from law school. I talk kids out of going to law school every chance I get.

I'm fresh off an arse-chewing from a judge this morning so I may be jaded, but wait until a partner or a judge shits on her head or a last-minute brief is due. The fun has only begun, my random, anonymous internet friend.

Congrats, folks. You'll be a depressed alcoholic like me in about five years.

I always chuckle that the guy who failed the bar multiple times always starts this thread

that statement is not accurate but I'll decline to take the bait.

Good luck to all taking the Bar. I cherish my legal education, passing the bar in two states and I will always maintain my ticket although I despise CLEs. However, the past 15 years and 4 months since I stopped the full time practice of law have been glorious and I pray I never go back.

How did you get out? What are you doing now?

It is truly a noble profession. A higher calling, really.

LSU 140 109 (77.86%) 31 (22.14%)
LOYOLA 149 110 (73.83%) 39 (26.17%)
SOUTHERN 153 73 (47.71%) 80 (52.29%)
TULANE 70 50 (71.43%) 20 (28.57%)
OTHER 104 58 (55.77%) 46 (44.23%)
TOTAL 616 400 (64.94%) 216 (35.06%).
Loyola bringing the heat. Southern, well, they're still doing Southernly. If you can't get 1 out of every 2 students to pass the bar then you should reexamine the process.

How do some of these people pass the Bar Exam? You know who I'm talking about. One guy yesterday starts walking off after talking nonsense for 10 minutes, and the prosecutor asked him if he wanted to submit that. No, I just wanted to give the judge a back story on what had happened.

I'll frick it up if I try an give the legal terms for it, but she's at a public defense project and has already been preparing docs (with supervision obviously) for cases scheduled to be heard by the supreme court. She has her own clients already for all intents and purposes. Believe me, I've already been the punching bag on more than a few meltdowns, but this one was the biggest because in the eyes of her employer it was a foregone conclusion she would pass and was only given two weeks off to prepare. If she would have failed I would be in Mexico right now.
She also went to lawschool out of state and had already passed the bar in a state in the northeast, so needless to say I got bitched out multiple times for my stupid arse state and their dumbass Napoleonic code she had to learn in a month or so.

As a graduate of southern law, trust me when I say that you do not want more than 50-60% of the students from there to have a license to practice law.

See you suckas later. I was offered an in-house gig at a financial firm. No more billing hours for this guy.
