Right?

I mean, that's how I see it. They unilaterally cancelled a game they could have played at a multitude of venues.

This should count as a victory for LSU and a loss for Florida.

Cowards have set a new precedent for getting out of having to play a game you're expecting to lose.

It would be a W for LSU. LSU AD needs to do something.

Alleva just confirmed that this was not a mutual decision.

In sports, when one team unilaterally backs out of playing a scheduled game, it's called a forfeit, and it classified as a loss for the team unwilling to play the scheduled game.

I think we should keep this in our back pocket for the next disaster that happens here. Apparently we're not required to pull effort out to play the game. It's optional. Bet USCe feels like they got screwed last year too.

Why do you want an easy win? Why do you not want to have to beat Florida in their stadium with their crowd to earn a win? Where's the competitiveness?

I couldn't care less about it counting as a loss for UF.
It should absolutely not negatively impact LSU. The SEC should count it as a win for SECCG purposes.

How about we come to an alternative agreement whereby Coach O and the coward meet at the SEC office for a no rules cage match. Whoever taps out or gets knocked unconscious forfeits this weekends game.

It's not acceptable to (potentially) have 2 SEC teams playing one less game and the SEC office has had 3 days to make changes. The SEC Commissioner should be fired for incompitence. He gambled and he lost.

If a game cannot be scheduled without "unnatural" concessions by either team or a currently scheduled opponent...Florida should absolutely forfeit this weekend's game. That is exactly why it was important enough to do whatever was possible to play this Saturday.

Agree, but the question/demand needs to wait until the storm/aftermath play out.

1. Each Conference team shall play eight Conference games each year. The schedule will consist of a 6-1-1 format, whereby each institution will play all six of its division opponents, one permanent opponent and one rotating opponent from the other division each year. The permanent non-division opponents will be as follows:
Alabama v. Tennessee
Arkansas v. Missouri
Auburn v. Georgia
LSU v. Florida
Ole Miss v. Vanderbilt
Mississippi State v. Kentucky
Texas A&M v. South Carolina
The remaining six non-divisional opponents will be played on a rotating basis. The sites, dates, and rotation of the eight-game schedule shall be set by administrative action of the Conference. Any conflicts that result in this schedule that cannot be resolved by the institutions involved will be submitted to the SEC Presidents and Chancellors for final resolution.

Based off this, it seems like the SEC Presidents and Chancellors have the power to decide what happens in this scenario. Who the he'll knows what that will be though.
