I love it. This is my stage, and I choose who gets to perform. Wish more owners would take this stand.
I bet its the Rooneys in Pittsburgh.

“[R]egarding the National Anthem and the protests, the one quote that I was informed of was, ‘You’re going to stand on the line with your hand on your heart and you’re going to sing the national anthem because this is my stage,’” Baldwin said. The owner was not named.

I seriously doubt it's Rooney.

Thanks, did not know that.

I personally do not care one way or the other about this whole kneeling thing. With that said, I don't understand the need to word it like that.
I can see an owner saying that he expects or wants all staff to stand, but to demand the players stand and sing is pretty brazen and seems like an easy way to ruffle some feathers. Especially when you do not have a legal land to stand on (CBA).
Jerry Jones? I mean it has to be Jerry right?

Jerry said something along those lines last week.

the owners won't do anything if someone doesn't stand ... huff and puff, nothing more ...

Why are you worried about people being worried about this?

Maybe, but you do what your boss says, or you get replaced. I'm sure there are hundreds, maybe thousands of guys who would stand at rigid attention for the chance to play in the NFL.

Yea, but those hundreds maybe thousands of guys will not have the ability to make these owners millions of dollars.

People looking for reasons to be offended.

Exactly. The league office simply "encourages players to stand" but nobody has to stand.
Which is why this protest isn't much of a protest.
And for an owner to require reeks of a workplace violation by an employer.

Lets face it, the owner is trying to act big and bad, but alot of it is just talk. If a player such as Tom Brady, Aaron Rogers, Antonio Brown, JJ Watt decide to protest. The owner would not do anything about it, except give him a slap on the wrist.

Will this be addressed in the next CBA?

It was Jerry Jones, no lie.
He said he would cut any player, coach trainer who didn't stand on the spot.

I bet Dez Bryant could pull his pants down during the anthem and moon the flag and Jerry wouldn't do anything to him.

Jerry Jones said this a while back, and I agree with his statement

Maybe Dez of two years ago, current Dez isn't exactly lighting the world on fire.
