Orgeron and the players have all but said " we would have been a much better team but you know...Les Miles"

Wait, wait...

You're telling me Miles was; essentially, sabotaging our offense at every phase?

This is simply incredible. I didn't know one man had this kind of capability.

This shite coming out is crazy to me. I always figured Les didn't do shite, just kicked back and collected a huge paycheck while allowing his assistants to do whatever they wanted.

Is it possible that this is only because LSU has a ton of injuries on the OL right now? Clapp and Whethersby aren't playing this weekend. Boutte has left the field with injury at some point in every game he's played. Malone seems a bit banged up. Theuma didn't start the opener Maybe the changes are out of necessity right now more than anything else?

CNN has just blamed global warming and world hunger on Les.

Unfortunately, he didn't lose confidence in Jefferson.

While I hear most of you, and I absolutely loved the performance Saturday night, LSU had at least four things going for it that won't always be the case in the remaining 7 games:

1. They were home, which provided for home field advantage (at least for the first half) and fed into the player's emotions.

2. The players were amped. They just had their coach fired in front of their eyes for the team's poor performances out of the gate and many were fired up to take that pain out on Missouri.

3. They were playing Missouri. A 4-8/5-7 team.

4. Missouri had little time to prepare for what they might see from Ensminger. Now there is at least some tape.

Again, don't get me wrong, Saturday night was glorious. I hope the OP is correct and this was all about throwing Miles overboard. But I've seen Miles teams play similarly (look no further than Auburn 2015 and Texas Tech in the bowl game). I'm optimistic but I want to see this type of performance (or close to it) when we play quality teams, who have scouted us, when the emotion of the firing is gone and (in some cases) when we are on the road.

Certainly not in Cam's corner but the more I read and hear talk shows , it seems to me that Miles really was the culprit. Now Cam and Les being best friends and Les Best Man in Cam's wedding or the other way around , I'm not sure, I wonder if Cam really would have been a good Offensive Coordinator without Miles. Again , not saying that Cam was good at all as he has been terminated from so many other jobs but I wonder if Les was the real culprit?

Getting up 35-0 is always helpful, but I noticed a lot more zip on the sidelines. Staff seemed to be more engaged and pumped up.

Les seemed to completely ignore his offensive staff outside of Cam

well Cam was the OC so why would he listen to the position coaches? He is going to go with the guy who gets paid the big bucks and who he hired to run his offense.

the dirty laundry will continue to come out.

apparently dean dingman was the biggest jerk of them all. ponamsky is an upgrade in that area.

when les told rinaldi he still wanted to "call plays again" i started having convulsions. prayers sent to whatever program let's him "call plays" again.

It is appalling that some never saw how inadequate he actually was. He was a good man who recruited well and provided entertaining statements, but that is the extent of it

Sure would like to sit down and talk to Billy Gonzales. He was vocal about LSU offense after the 1/9/12 debacle and Les more or less got rid of him. He probably could tell a whole lot about the shite Miles put on the field in that game. He probably knows a lot about how Miles sat back, made NO adjustments and let LSU fall flat on the biggest college football stage in the world.

We are learning more and more exactly what many of us suspected to be true. Les was a great recruiter, but was incompetent, and stubbornly remained behind the times in every other aspect.

It's funny, and a little ridiculous that there are people who still stubbornly and vehemently defend the guy.

Expectations werent met in almost every season. You cant recruit consistently in the top #8 and produce a consistent #23 year-end ranking. Add-in the most NFL players of any college football team in the Nation and you get major disappointment.

Look at it this way. If LSU regularly raked-in a #30 recruiting class(ex. Penn State, Nebraska, Arizona State, UNC) and regularly finished in the top #20 everyone would be ecstatic even if it meant no championships. Its all about managing expectations. Our view of the world is subjective and relative to those around us.

To prove the above statement...

Michigan State also averages a #30 recruiting class but an average finish the last 3 years of #5!!

Baylor averages a #30 recruiting class and an average finish of #11!!

Hence Art Briles and Mark Dantonio are considered among the best coaches in college football and Todd Graham(Arizona State), Bo Pelini(Nebraska) and James Franklin(Penn State) arent(although Grahams stock is rising, it doesnt help him that he coaches in the West Coast/Mountain time zone).
