I asked last night and never got a good answer. Why exactly did they go for two up by 4 points? If Louisville had driven for a td on its last drive; then Clemson would have had the opportunity to win the game with a late FG if they were up by 5. But missing the 2 point try a late field goal would at best tie the game.

Seems like a coaching blunder by Dabo that he got away with. That is twice this season.

To get it to 6 in case UL scored and missed or shamed an XP

I honestly didn't get it either, unless Louisville's kicker is really shaky

Being up by 6 is better than being up by 4 or 5?

Why wouldn't Louisville have then gone for 2 if they scored to go up 3?

I'm pretty sure it was in hopes of blocking an extra point if they gave up a touchdown to Louisville. Personally I do think giving up a touchdown and then getting a FG is more likely, so I agree kicking the extra point would have been a better decision, but I don't think it was such a clear decision that I'd consider it a blunder.

They already blocked an extra point, why is that not a reason? Sounds like a good reason to me.

OP if you can't understand that needing a TD AND an XP to win is harder than just needing a TD to win then you can't be helped.

Knowing our kicking game, if we had scored we would have missed the XP anyways. I have zero faith in that area
