re: I thought Tim Brando was an LSU guy

Huh? This is essentially the sentiment of this entire board:
Is it the sentiment of the entire board to try to torpedo LSU'S chances of getting Herman or any other coach worth a damn? Because that's what Tim Brando's trying to do. Tim Brando can get fricked. Sorry you got butt hurt over being passed over for the "voice of the Tigers" gig Timmy, but the truth is, your opinions hold no weight with anyone that matters.

Yes, Brando knows all about being fired. LOL.

Everyone on here always complains about the AD and president. That's basically what he did. To the outside world, if the AD and the president are bad, the head coaching job is not the best destination. I'm not saying I agree with him, but that's where he's coming from.

The AD and administration may be bad at hiring and firing, but what does the football program look like with regards to facilities, revenue, compensation and the like? Have they maintained LSU as a Top 5 football program with respect to those things?
That should be a prospective coach's concern. Am I allowed to do my job to the best of my abilities?
This other stuff is media fodder. And I'm not saying the AD couldn't do better.

Seems legit? I've got to agree with Brando here.

If Brando is right, Alleva is a board puppet. Therefore, it's really the board calling shots. Are they idiots in his mind too. I liked Tim a lot , but I do believe he has had a few career setbacks that are pushing him to have much more negativity.

quote:Agreed. And I think coaches will see that ultimately. I think the sentiment with Brando and some of these media guys is that they weigh the value of this job with the so called Miles "fiasco". I also think everyone likes Miles so much in the media and that is a factor. It's really best to just ignore talk like this.

Grew up in Shreveport. Believe me, it is as much LSU as any city in the state.

Port City isn't an LSU fan base at this point.
I see at least three-four times more LSU fans and gear in northern Louisiana than LaTech, Grambling and ULM combined. Billboards too.

What did he say that wasn't pretty much correct??
The leadership at LSU clusterfricked the Jimbo stuff and this is the same gang we have to count on for getting the new hire right.
I am not thrilled with that prospect.

Brando is a douche and goes out of his way to make sure that people don't think he's a homer. I wish he would move to Iraq .

There are some not so attractive parts to every head coaching job and every university.
Posted on 9/30/16 at 10:58 pm to Tiger1991
You guys saying Shreveport is not an LSU town have obviously never been to Shreveport. It's overwhelmingly LSU. Sure there are a few Tech fans, but even most of them care more about LSU.

Brando is the mouthpiece for some very heavy hitters in the Northern part of the state.
That being said if Herman or Jimbo come here they have the AD and the President by the balls and that ain't bad

And Shreveport has as many big $ LSU boosters as any place in LA

Call a spade a spade.
Nobody will want to hear it, but we are pretty much Texas light when it comes to booster involvement and expectations

Exactly. Whoever the new coach will be, the first minute he beats Saban he will be calling the shots. Not Aleva and certainly not lame-duck F. King.
