If so, what meds help you, if any? What foods or activities make them worse?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Made a potato gun out of PVCs once

Caffeine worsens them.
Not drinking enough water also hurts a bit.

Caffeine worse. Beta blockers can decrease the burden of them.

Yes. I have the non-threatening type. In other words they do not increase with exertion or on the treadmill. Low dose of Inderall LA helps. It's a beta blocker. It also helps lower blood pressure slightly
I used to focus on them a lot which made them worse. Every once in a while I'll feel one. But it does not bother me anymore at all with reassurances yearly from my cardiologist. Certainly caffeine may increase them. But that doesn't bother me.
If you go with a beta blocker, it will likely take a few days or maybe less for your body to adjust it to it . Don't worry about the slight dizziness or fogginess for a couple of hours each day during that time. The long acting Indaral works best for me since I only have to take it once a day. At medium to higher doses beta blockers can affect tumescence or your erection.

A good buddy of mine has them. He cut out all caffeine, alcohol, and sugar. He also takes magnesium and potassium supplements.

I didn't know there were meds for PVC. Doc just said to cut down on caffeine and alcohol. Like I can give that up!
But yeah, the pounding gets me concerned from time to time.

Also a lot of people have them and never know it. If you are concerned ask for the lowest dose of a long acting Inderal or other long acting beta blocker and see how that works for a couple of weeks.

They can sometimes be cured with an ablation procedure. Type of doc that would do this is an electrophysiologist (Heart Rhythm specialist within Cardiology). Typical workup is to quantify the burden with heart monitor worn for a period of time followed by medical therapy (beta blockers and/or remove triggers like caffeine, low potassium, alcohol, ect) to see if symptoms improve. Doc may order an echocardiogram (same technology to look at babies in the womb) to look for structural abnormalities.

Yeah. I wore the monitor for a period of time and got the echo. I asked the technician if it was a boy of a girl.
Doctor basically said to adjust my lifestyle. I didn't recall him mentioning the meds. I'll consider that now if it persists/worsens.

I've had them intermittently as long as I can remember. They seem to be worse when I have reflux, or maybe I just notice them more then.

Yes, I've had more lately which prompted me to make appt. with cardiologist next week.

Yep, I have them. I take a shite load of Beta blockers. I was told it's a side effect of the heart failure I been fighting. If the get out of hand, I pop a Xanax. That helps a bunch, but I don't use them often. I had them to the point that it caused my CRT-D to fire off. That sucks the real big one.

Doesn't this scream "Arkansas!"?
ETA: Didn't see the "Heart related." part.
Thought the thread was for PVC Construction.
Carry On.

You know, I got a bunch of it given to me a while back...didn't know the sun would eventually ruin it..

I take a low dose antenelol for them. Stress is what does it for me. I eventually want to work my way off of it, but honestly I don't feel any side effects and it's been working for the past few months.

I had a variety of random PVC pipes and connections in my shed when I cleaned it out after the flood. They're still in my debris pile if you want to go dig them out.

I stopped drinking the extra cup of coffee, slowed down on the alcohol, take a supplement of 500mg Magnesium /day , stay hydrated and mine are much reduced if not gone.

I've been taking metropolol for over a year now. I still have an episode once a month or so, but it was every day. Cardiologist said the next step would be to stop and restart my heart if the beta blocker didn't work. Luckily they did.
ETA: I've had zero side effects except for a lower than normal (for me) BP.
