Well we are less then one week away from my first LSU Tigers football game and I can not wait! A little bit worrysome with all the recent changes but am going to try and keep positive and hope to get the best expirence possible. I just have a few questions regarding what we should do on Saturday before the game starts. Are we allowed to bring backpacks and purses into the stadium? I have been to some places who do not allow it. I hope to buy some souvenirs and the game so bringing a backpack will make life easier. Where can we go to see the team come down the hill? What are some pre-game festivities we should check out? What will the temperature be like for a night time game? ( We have snow and 32 degree weather where I am from at this time of the year.) As well as any ideas for stuff to do outside of football for tourist as we are there for 5 days would be great.

Thanks!

Tailgate. Watch the team come down the hill. Visit mike the tiger. Eat at chimes and some of the other local restaurants.

Just have fun. Enjoy the trip. Don't worry about the coaching change. It might be even better than before.

Hope you enjoy your time down here, as far as bags and purses i don't think you can bring purses into the stadium you can only have a clear bag. Backpacks i don't remember if they are allowed in the stadium. I'll let others handle festivities. Game time temp will be in the 70s dropping into the 60s by the end of the game most likely.

There's some AUSSIES coming down too if I remember correctly

Small chance I'm out there. Give me a way to hit you up and I promise you won't remember Saturday outside of pictures

-To see the team go down the hill just go where everyone is congregating at the north part of the stadium (the big LSU sign).

-Must have a clear bag to enter tiger stadium.

-this is an amazing game to go to. Historic, really. Soak up tiger stadium in all of its glory.

-introduce yourself to the old folks tailgating and make conversation. Be sure to mention you're not from around here. Don't go to the college age kids.

-learn the cheers and join in the fun.

-be sure to arrive early to get a free parking space if you didn't already buy one.

-hit up New Orleans before you leave

-get something to prevent swamp arse in case you start sweating.

Look into getting a parking pass close to the stadium.

There is a new clear bag rule for the stadium, so any bags must be see through. Pathetic, I know.

Because of this coaching change the crowd will be raucous and loud Saturday night. It should be a great atmosphere.

A timeline of Gameday events, including walking down the hill is posted a day or two before the game. Where something Canadian and tailgate hop, you will have plenty of food and drink by doing that.

The weather will be hot and muggy. We are supposed to get a little break in humidity this week, but it will still be warm, especially with alcohol consumption. Highs in upper 80's in the daytime, going down to 70's at game time and maybe some upper 60's by games end.

Find State Street and pay money to park in some of the locals yards, make sure you go early enough. That will put you closer to the Victory Hill area and right off campus. You'll walk right past the Chimes, great food, on your way to campus.

You'll have a blast!

If we don't score on our opening drive in the second half go ahead and leave so you can beat traffic

The weather channel says you will only hit 32 on Oct. 5th and are in the 60's during the daytime. You are one of those truth stretching baws,

You also said you are coming with your girlfriend. Pictures are now required to see if it is true. It will also help LSU fans recognize you during tailgating.

Clear bag ... or a small clutch 4.5 x 6.5 per "rules". NO BACKPACKS BUT I saw plenty of people with them at the last game.

Shorts and shirt should be fine.

Game day time line will come out Friday ... check back.

I'd suggest:

-Drinks and food at The Chimes (up around the Visitor's Center on map)

-Grab a beer or two at Slinky's (around the Visitor's Center on map)

-Walk through the Greek ampitheatre and through LSU's quad (3 and 6 on map)

-Stop by the numerous tailgates on Field House Drive (Lockett Hall -- in between 4 and 6 on map). From there, you'll see the roundabout and Indian Mounds. That's the best spot to see the band and team march to the stadium.

What part of Canada are you from? Have some friends in Saskatoon that are supposed to come later this year.

If you need spot to call home base for Sat, just let me know. We set up right by Indian Mounds and band passes right by us. Not far from Stadium either.

You could argue that Tiger Stadium is going to have a lot more energy Saturday night than it would've had the change not been made.

quote:

Are we allowed to bring backpacks and purses into the stadium?

Clear bags only. They will sell them on campus.

quote:

Where can we go to see the team come down the hill?

North side of the stadium, just follow the crowds.

What are some pre-game festivities we should check out?

As others have said, go see Mike, tour the campus, enjoy the tailgating.

It wont be this. Look for 70s falling into the 60s. Comfortable for SELA.

Enjoy yourself! There will be a lot of energy on campus surrounding the changes. I'm taking my 5 year old to her first game and I'm pumped.

I have a feeling the place is going to be pretty electric early on.

And if the offense gets going right away and the defense dominates, that place is going to blow up.
