Just saw the Phil comments on Hal Sutton and Hal's response. I hope Phil's happy he's thrown all of his former captains under the bus because of his own failures. Phil just can't help but stir the pot

If I was DL3 I'd kick him off the team and put Bubba or Furyk in his spot. He just made something that happened 12 years ago a major story. It's self-fulfilling in a time where you're supposed to be a part of a team. God help us when its his turn to be a captain

I think PGA officials have seen and heard enough of Phil running his mouth. I'd be surprised if he's ever named Captain. There was no reason to throw Sutton under the bus this many years down the road.

Phil is a better golfer than tiger. Whenever Phil and tiger play in foursomes they have to use tiger's golf ball because Phil is a better golfer and will be able to compensate better for not using his normal equipment.
If tiger was the better golfer, tiger could have adapted to another golf ball better than Phil.

Phil is 100% right. What Watson did was pathetic coaching. Arrogance at its finest and Phil called him out then. Good.
What Hal did was arrogance, moreso ignorance really and Phil called him out.
Good coaches/captains ask for input, but don't necessarily follow it all the time, but helps them evaluate and make better decisions.
Azinger was the last coach to involve the players, now it's happening even more, but at a overkill level with all these vice-captian's and crap.
Phil has played long enough and well enough to have a voice. If it burns Watson or Sutton, so what. They fricked up. Period. Phil speaking the truth. Refreshing.

Yes, Phil is kind of a douche, but has been able to maintain a public persona as a nice "golly gee" type of guy. I understand that makes some people (especially Tiger fans) dislike him. It's whatever. At the end of the day, Phil speaking out has helped and gotten more player involvement with the coach.

I'm not a Phil hater, but what does he have to gain throwing former captains under the bus on the eve of the Ryder Cup. You can bet Sergio, Rory and the rest of the Euros are laughing their asses off in their team room at Phil being Phil.

Perhaps he should look at our RC record over the past 20 years before running his mouth and talking shite. The Euros have owned us. And he hasn't done a hell of a lot to reverse the trend.
