Serious: Chances this backfires?

Everyone saying that "this was a bad idea" seems to be from the SEC, which in turn tells me this it was the right move. Les was a great person, just not as great as a head coach.
Heck, even if it does backfire, I couldn't take the Miles era anymore.

Les was going 5-7 this year. It already had backfired.

Can it get much worse?
Arguably best talent we have ever had. 2011 obviously great.
We werent getting any better. LSU is allowing 16 ppg and is 2-2

How could it backfire?

there's always a chance
but the upside is undoubtedly higher than keeping Les in place

If we don't make the correct hire, could be really bad. We were trending down though with him at the helm. If we make one of the big hires, like is expected, I believe in a year or two we will be back at the top in the SEC.

Zero fricking chance. You can look at a list of FBS and FCS teams and probably pick 50 coaches you'd rather have than Les Miles in a matter of 10 minutes.
The guy literally adds nothing to the program as a football coach that other mediocre and low paid coaches couldn't.

zero chance this program had no excitement anymore it had ran its course

40% chance.
LSU isn't THE premier job, but the success they've seen in the last decade+ means that they are definitely a top job. We should be able to get just about anyone we want if we go for them.
Just depends on if we trust Alleva to make the right hire.

If you watched the game last night, or even all of the games the last few years, then you know this was the right move.

I just want to enjoy watching LSU football again. And no that does not mean winning every game.

Life is like a box of chocolates bro.

Very well may.. Just look at UT and the firing of Fulmer. I am not content to stay mediocre though

LSU football was not fun to watch under Miles, how can it get worse?

There is always a chance it backfires. However, no one can predict the future.
