I said last year. He retires when LF leaves.

This would be best for everyone but these things rarely work out like that.

Whatever happens, I hope the front running a-holes calling for his head don't push him away from the program whenever the time comes for him to step away from coaching.

Les Miles is an LSU legend and will have a statue one day.

Bring on the down votes.

Yea, he's going to walk away from at least $10M by retiring & not getting fired. For those who think he is dumb, you are the dummies if you really believe this BS.

Les will not voluntarily retire until he has more wins at LSU than Cholly Mac.

He won't leave willingly without 138 wins.

Yeah because certain members of The TAF treated him so well.

He has more than one year remaining. Additionally, Les is not going to walk away from a gazillion dollar buyout just because some fans want him to retire. If it comes down to it, and it might, Les will make the AD fire him so he can collect the aforementioned gazillion dollars.

Hopefully it won't get ugly like it got at Texas when Mack Brown refused to step down. I hope he leaves of his own accord, but we all know how stubborn he is. Whichever happens, he is past his expiration date and the program is stagnating. Time for him to go.

I'm down for it. Hopefully he goes out on top.

I'm tired of this board being a constant shitstorm about everything to do with Les Miles.

A coach in his last year of contract and no renewal

Is this supposed to be a future dated thread? His contract doesn't expire until 2019.

I wouldn't mind watching him coach for a few more years. He consistently bring LSU winning seasons and there's no gurantee that the replacement will be a disaster

If Miles retired, he would wait until Tom Herman has taken another job before announcing it. Then recommend Peveto for the job.

If he was planning to retire...I wished he would come out with it now. I could feel better about the season and he would get one long fairwell tour. So many positives to doing so earlier than after season which means he isn't retiring
