Really sucks to be a fan of sports or music here in North Carolina right now. Southern Conference soon to announce their Bball tourney will no longer be in Asheville.

All this because these conferences/organizations are worried about some bad PR.

You know they don't actually give a shite about the issue.

Are they moving it to South Carolina or Florida? Seems like the only other place they could

Good. Private organizations speaking with their money.

What about the ACC basketball tourney? I think they've shifted it to where it's in Brooklyn on a rotation but I would imagine the NC schools alumni (esp UNC and NC State) will be pissed if that's moved entirely out of the state

Good for NC for standing their ground.
This is the cost of their stance, unfortunately for them.

That's already been moved.

The going thought is either to Greeneville or Columbia

Wow. There was zero need for the bill in the 1st place. They brought it on themselves.

Where in SC could you hold it? I would think FL and the Redskins stadium are in play

This is all pretty stupid since the Governor is going to be replaced in a few months. But sure, lets all grandstand over an issue thats hot right now in order to pat ourselves on the back and ignore real problems. Im sure my trans friend that lives in NC is pumped about all of the local events that he cant attend now.

Well he can thank the NC government for trying to tell him where to go to the bathroom. This is no different than if NC decided to raise taxes. This is the market's response to government intervention. Legislation has consequences.

The ACC tourney's not supposed to come back to NC for many years. I can't see the Governor getting another term (he's already screwed over teachers where it's about the worst state to work in). Just have to wait it out.
